iPhone 6

According to Cellucity, iPhone 6 Plus only coming to SA in January

I was fondling the 6 just now at Copenhagen airport. Well, the box any way cos they won't take it out or put on display

So, tax free prices are 8k for the 16 and 9,200 for the 64.

Don't know about the 6 plus. All sold out.

So do I. They're basically penalizing you for choosing the lowest pricing tier, like economy class seating on a plane.

Depends. The 64Gb costs the same sort of price a 32Gb would command.

While I think that having 16Gb of non-expandable storage is just plain too little, I can understand that there are people that are in the market for that- the type that want more than one device. I think I'd get by with a 16Gb phone if I had a 64Gb+ tablet as well.

Apple have been devious here, I've always bought a 16GB iPhone, I did buy a 32GB iPad and also have a 64GB Note 3 (32GB + 32GB memory card) that I have used for video and streaming TV in the past, as the iPhone screen always seemed a little small for video.

I decided that with it being a smallish jump in cost to go to 64GB this year, even though I've never bothered with the 32GB iPhone in the past. In a way, I fell for their marketing plan.

Well, a little bit yeah I agree; but you do still get other 16gb baseline phones and they did bump the rest up basically for free. So it's more of an incentive to upgrade than a penalisation, even though it does actually feel like (and kind of is) one.

With the understandably massive demand for this awesome device I am surprised we will get it that soon even.

Us 4th wave plebs get half a launch. The new markets that launched today got plus models albeit in small numbers no doubt.

I'm still in Copenhagen and the only 6 plus I've seen is the 16gb model for R9,200. Same price as the 64gb 6 model.

That's tax free price btw. Add 20% on for the normal Denmark price.

But with the Rand still heading down the toilet it's hard to compare to a ZAR rate. By today's rate my £619 is almost R12000 (over R18 to the £ on the checker I looked at).

The same £600 was probably ony around R6000-R7000 3 or 4 years ago, IIRC), but it's actually less spending to me today than it was 3 years ago.

Well I did get a play with both the 6 and 6 plus at Heathrow last night and did think the 6 was an nice size and being used to the Galaxy range, it felt good in hand.

But the 6 plus was just a different animal. It really feels like a smaller iPad than a larger iPhone and I'm not sure how I'd utilise it or use it in everyday life.

If I had a choice I'd go for the 6.

After having a look at Apple's testing facilities, I feel that the bendy iPhone's must be part of a defective batch.
This entire bendgate saga had just been taken too far.

I'm no iPhone fan, but the iPhone 6+ bent because stupid people are stupid. Sorry, but it's not a problem with the phone, but a problem with the stupid generation of hipsters who decide that having a phablet and the world's thinnest jeans go hand in hand.

I believe that people who are dumb enough to expose any phone to such amounts of pressure deserve to have their phone 'relieved' from them.

I'm no longer convinced dude!!

I also believed it to be over blown, much like how I felt over scuffgate, which in time turned out to be a legitimate design flaw!

You seen the latest video of that guy bending the plus? He did it way too easily!!

Have a look for the Consumer Reports test on the iPhone 6. They put it through proper testing, and comparatively so, unlike all the Youtube uploads.

Read through all of that. Pretty clear bendgate is a bunch of hot air.

I'm not convinced...

It's a thin device, and common sense should prevail.

It's also an isheep mentality to think that Apple should be responsible for user negligence...

Doubt this guy is taking his plus back for a warranty claim...
