iPhone 6

It's a fact. Don't get me wrong, the S5 takes beautiful pictures and panoramas - but it's not quite as consistent as the 5s. Nor does the S5 autofocus/tap to focus as fast as the 5s.

Pish. S5 has noticeable loss of details in low light in general. Lower MPs will help more often in low light. Focusing alone wins it for me.

Why does Apple always bring out the Apple bashers in such a ridiculous fashion? This isn't an us vs them sort of thing, it's simply phones that appeal to different audiences and markets. Not every smartphone buyer is looking for the same thing when they make their purchase. It is a massive markets and each phone appeals to different groups, get over it, this isn't an absolutist argument. There is no right or wrong answer.

Because there are many childish and immature users on this forum who act their foot size and not their age.

Sad, but true.

Goes with reality of it being an internet forum but I do wish they'd confine themselves to the Off Topic section.

What the feck is going on in here...

Come on Android guys, GTFO, this is not our thread... leave bashing for the 'vs' threads or other parts of the forum. Everyone knows I love my Android more than most, but let's keep out of this here sub forum.

This is completely uncalled for, and very bad form tbh.

Let's see if New York Times picks up on this one and internet forums everywhere light up in rage and a new meme is created.

GapGate - http://www.redmondpie.com/forget-ip...-galaxy-note-4-has-a-serious-display-problem/

The roll out of the Galaxy Note 4 has been brought forward by Samsung in a somewhat hurried attempt to compete with the unforeseen popularity of Apple’s two new iPhones, but in its haste, the Korean outfit may have released some units with a quite significant design issue. As the Tizen maker’s Cupertino rival looks to recover from the Bendgate issue, it has emerged that some Note 4 users have discovered quite a large gap between the display and the outer frame – sizeable enough to fit a business card or a couple of sheets of paper – and given the asking price of the latest installment to the iconic phablet series, it’s not exactly the kind of build quality that said users would’ve expected.

As with Bendgate, it does appear that the count of those afflicted is minimal, although with Samsung having only shifted 30,000 units thus far – the sum total if its early inventory – it’s the kind of issue that could spill over into yet more “-gate” fanfare if it affects enough people. Given that the Note 4 has yet to launch Stateside, though, it’s something that Sammy should be able to nip in the bud before the release really kicks into gear, and with the company having been only too accommodating in its criticism of Apple and Bendgate, it would certainly want to avoid having egg on its face from a similar launch incident.

OK, so you're not basing this on fact, merely preference. Gotcha.

What exactly is your point here? Every comment I've made has been substantiated on and backed up.

I'm very much basing it on facts, and photographers' eyes, not only my own. Do you understand what things like exposure and contrast are, and why it's at the top of the list of tested specs?

Be careful of putting too much weight into a two point difference in light of the obvious S5 flaws. Both cameras perform equally under good conditions, with the iPhone being more consistent, having superior low light performance, and having much faster autofocus and tap to focus.

Nope, I tried harder than that with my s5.video on one of the bend threads.

All that proves is you a p ussy! :p

A lot's been said about the amount of force exerted by various individuals posting these bendgate videos but it's impossible to quantify or measure. It's incredibly subjective. My max force vs AstroTurf's max force are probably quite different, primarily cause he is a p ussy and I'm a Jedi master... :)

LOL, I can open a mayonnaise jar without flinching, beat that :p :D

You make a statement saying "focusing alone wins it for me", yet when provided with empirical evidence that the S5 camera is better than the iPhone 5S camera, assume anecdotal evidence to be of equal value? I'm sorry, but that does not fly.

The fact that you are basing it on "photographers' eyes" is possibly the least scientific approach possible.

It may be a better camera to you, that doesn't make it better. Having a slight advantage in one aspect does not make the entire camera experience better. Be careful of putting too much weight into a slight improvement in low light conditions. If you're going to go by that metric, then the HTC One M8 may as well be declared the best camera in a smartphone.
