iPhone 6

Well after using the iPhone 6 for 2 weeks I don't really see much shortcomings. I am almost used to how things work. The battery life is better than my android equivalents, but I think that is because of all the widgets I used on android - the only one I really miss is the agenda view of the calendar on my homepage.

Really impressed by the fingerprint scanner, much better than I am used to on the S5.

The apps also seems a little bit better on iOS, but I think that is just a preference from my side to how things look. Also I really like the whatsapp feature which shows you who the messages were delivered to and who read it so far. Wonder when they are bringing that to android.

For some odd reason, my notes just dissappeared, but it was just grocery lists so nothing really bad. I don't know what I did to but I wasn't active in the notes section when it dissappeared. Will just have to monitor that one.

Overall, I am impressed by the phone.

Round about November 2014...

Not the same, not the double tick and the blue arrows. The swype to the side listing everyone who received and read the message. Really helpful in group chats

Hold down on message and press info on android if I remember correctly

Did not know about that side swipe thing. Thanks it is cool you learn something new everyday

I wish Apple would get widgets - such as the calendar. Even a set of predefined widgets so they don't open up to all developers and still remain in control

I have moved back to Apple after many years, to give them a try again. The last iPhone I had was the iPhone 4.

Im a fairly technical person, so I made the switch to Android and for the most part enjoyed it. Had various Android devices, from LG, Samsung, Nexus and Nokia.

So got my hands on a iPhone 6 yesterday, busy coming terms with it all.

Can someone offer any useful tips or advice to aid me in my switch?

The 5S was just perfect, i never once thought or wished for it to be larger in any way.
I dont get it...

I really do hope this is the worst iPhone in terms of sales.

Im thinking of getting a 5S 64GB as a spare going forward, but I just know all the apps will be optimised for the iPhone 6 anyway.

i just dont get it...

Geez did i get it wrong.
This phone is outselling Samsungs!

The size was basically the only reason I didn't buy one in the past. I think a lot of people wanted a bigger screen.

The 4 and 6 is pretty much the same when it comes to interface.

It all depends with how you use it and for what you use it,is there anything in particular you cant do or are having trouble with or maybe just find irritating?

Hi,

I just got my i6(Work phone) 2 days ago. So far loving it. Smooth, slides into my pocket very nicely. Light etc. Had an issue with Wifi, but after changing our AP to another channel, all is well.

I also have a Galaxy S5. It's a bit laggy sometimes. But it will stay my primary phone for personal use. Just waiting for Lollipop.

I'm not going to bash either one, as they will both be used daily.

For starters jailbreak it. I'm assuming it's running 8.1.2?

Even if you do nothing with it, have the option going forward.

With the processing power and extra screen real estate there some nifty advantages to be had from jail breaking. A lot of it appeals to the aesthetics of the phone but there some very useful tweaks and mods to be had, enhancing what is already a very competent package.
