No, go use the Outlook app and see how mail should be done. Apple UI/UX has been a disgrace this year, from Apple Music to the way you can't get rid of the crap stock icons on the Apple Watch.

I have used it, and prefer Mail.

What percentage of emails that you send from your iPhone contain pictures/attachments?

There's lots of distortion. It's to be expected with the 6/6s. I've accepted it.

I don't see it, both sides look pretty straight to me. Perhaps we have different perceptions on this. If I get the chance I'll go back and take the same pic with my 5s and put it up for comparison (I didn't think to do it today)..

You shouldn't, take your phone back and exchange it for another 6s. No one else is seeing these distortions and it seems no one else is having these problems.

The in depth review from tech radar even says...

The images are also free of distortion and chromatic aberration, the twin scourges of cheap (and not so cheap) camera lenses. We suspect these aberrations are being corrected during the image processing phase, but that hardly matters because the results are excellent and leave no sign that they've been corrected digitally.

Simply look at the vertical lines towards the sides, which are (become) curved. It's much easier to spot when there are 3D known type of object at the sides. Again, the Merc is clearly distorted here.

Not many people will pick up on it. If you Google a bit, you'll see it became more apparent with the 6.

Nothing we can do about it, it's how many camera lenses are.

As I said, you need to exchange your phone.

But where are the curves you are referring to?

Nothing wrong with my phone, I've tested it against a 6 and both do the same thing.

It does irk me though that the 5s has less distortion.

You're not showing any distortion apart from the pics taken with your phone. No one else is talking about it and you saying there is distortion when there is clearly not, doesn't count.

Where is this distortion in other pics not taken with your phone?

Look, I'm an avid iPhoneographer, I took tens of thousands of pics with my 5s. I have a background in photography, and have a high level of attention to detail, especially because my photos are mostly based on lines and symmetry. I had a level of expectation based on the fantastic 5s camera, mainly when it comes to distortion and colour rendering/exposure control in brighter situations, which have not been met by the 6s. It is superior in many other ways though, and I'm happy with it.

Go and Google and you will find the same thing from others. Not much though, because people simply do not see it or do not care. Different perceptions. There are some who even believe the 5s is a better camera overall. I agree in some aspects.

Sorry Pot, say what you will but I don't see it and neither does anyone else, I even proved in the street scene photograph that there are no curves where you say there are.

Regardless, funny how I'm defending Apple against you :D

Btw, I'm a civil engineer and attention to detail and straight lines are pretty much my life. I'd say my eye is a lot sharper than the average person due to a lifetime of construction.

If you cannot see how the IRL straight lines have become curved at the edges, then you really should stick to your day job. :p

I'll PM you a pic which I would prefer not to post in this thread which better shows this curvature.

Once again, to be expected. All lenses have some kind of distortion, ask any photographer. It's simply a case of it being more pronounced since the 6.

My wife's a professional photographer :p

But it's cool. No need to send anything, we can agree to disagree and trust our own eyesight :)

I've already sent it, and await your reply here.

You are basically denying that there is distortion with the 6s.

I've already shown you in one of your pics that the distortion is there.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Distortion? Are you referring to picture noise or a physical distortion of the image. I've noticed from Dave123 post, that there is a slight rounding towards the edge of the image. Seems more noticeable on the top left of that building.

I've also read at least one review on the 6s shooter which claims the trade off for a higher pixel camera is images with more noise.

Physical distortion. The term is barrel distortion.

Thank you! It took an IT dude and a restaurant franchise owner to show this to a civil engineer. Fancy that. :p

And yes, I have also noticed the noise issue where the 5s was superior, which is what higher MPs with the same sensor size causes. I would probably have taken 6s optics with 5s/6 MPs, over the increase to 12MP.

Well, there is very obvious distortion in the pic you sent, was it taken with your 6s? And I'm not denying anything other than I don't see distortion in the pics that you claim to see. Popular opinion and tech review site(s) don't appear to agree with you either.

But yeah, I'm also not aware of any distortions in the pic of mine that you claim to see. I don't see it and from the distance the shot is taken, it could be any number of items on the concrete adding to an illusion.

Sorry mate, you are wrong.

And tech review sites do not mean good levels of attention to detail.

sand_man, do you notice the distortion here? The rectangular object on the right.

I've only ever thought things were a bit dark witj the camera but that's probably more down to me than it. So anyway, I took a few landscapy type shots this morning with lots of lines to look for distortion. Nothing evident.

Well you talk about 'lot's of distortion' and say to look at the vertical lines which become curved.

sand_man's "slight rounding towards the edge of the image. Seems more noticeable on the top left of that building" is not what you are saying.

Yes, lots compared to the 5s.

sand_man's reference is exactly what I'm saying. Note that distortion does not only occur in one place.

You seem surprised. :D

Maybe you could highlight it?

What about the vertical lines which become curved you mentioned earlier?

And sorry, but was the pic you sent me taken with your 6s?
