Yes, all lenses have distortion, it's what constitutes unacceptable distortion that counts. Your examples do look strange, but I can't duplicate the strange effect with a 5s, 6 or 6s. I have no real explanation as to why you got the result you did.

My 6s has similar distortion to my 5s, that's from testing, you can even see where spizz overlayed lines over the verticals in my building picture, there is very little barrel distortion.

The lines honestly don't help. Personally I don't need them either when I can see myself that the curvature is there.

I now have another pic from my 5, as well as the one from the 6, which I'll send through when I'm at a computer. You'll see they all show the same distortion, the 5 being the most forgiving.

The same pics from the 5 and 6 have been sent to you both.

Please reply here. I do hope that we can give it a rest now.

You'll also hopefully be able to see that the 5 has less distortion...

It can be rested anytime you like ;). All I'm saying is I don't see the issue with barrel distortion you do. You are fully entitled to your opinion and personal observations, I'm not saying you are wrong, it's what you are seeing with your images and I'm expressing what I'm seeing with mine. Two totally different sets of images coming from different cameras.

There is no issue. The fact is that the 5 and 5s have less distortion than the 6 and 6s, which is disappointing considering they are newer and better (in some aspects). I was challenged on this when I immediately noticed more distortion when moving from my 5s to 6s.

Haha, the 6P didn't exactly garner spectacular camera reviews. If anything the reviews just stated that the camera isn't as k@k as previous nexus phones... If you want a great camera that isn't iPhone then your options are pretty much Samsung and Sony.

LG G4.

The problem is the software it's attached to. iPhone camera + software = king.

Let's just hope they sort out this nonsense with the 6s.

Although it still takes superb photos, this one in low light at 19h45 last night.

The image at the top is 6s? The street lights are clearly curved.

Both 6s, bottom one has been corrected though. :)

I've never used one before. Pity the 6/6s have more barrel distortion than the 5s, but it's to be expected.

Corrected? How?

Yeah, there some interesting articles published as to why more megapixels doesn't equate to better quality photos.

Dare I say it, but the iPhone 5s may have a better camera than the iPhone 6s...

Even though I enjoy the 6s camera, there is still much truth to this.

More about post 5s excessive noise reduction and 'smudgy' look 6 here - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6576391.

Low light is brilliant, and being able to differentiate between colours, especially in high exposure scenes, is excellent. Though the results are over exposed and need to be toned down a bit. There's still a smudginess too.

There is a big difference between what you think and the real world:
The 6P scored as a better camera than the 6S, which scored the same as last year's phone.

Some of your Apple owners need to chill a bit. It's just a phone :)

Yeah I saw that score, which btw contradicts other tech reviews. The 6P is let down by the stock camera software. Although maybe I'm just put off by the way it overexposes bright scenes.

I'm starting to think the dxo guys try their best to extract the perfect image from each camera and base the score on that. This is different from a camera being better at taking consistently good photos without much effort.

That being said, if camera that is important then get the 6s plus.

I don't know if anyone remembers my post a couple of weeks ago about not being able to connect to a coffee shops wifi?

Well similar thing now in a hotel. I couldn't enter the username before, now the keyboard doesn't appear at all. So I thought it might be keyboard related, uninstalled Swiftkey and it works fine now.

Look, 9.2GM should be out within the next couple of weeks or so. Hopefully a lot of these bugs will be sorted out.

Yep, hope so. I'm pretty lost without Swiftkey so until then it's going to be a lots of installing and reinstalling.

I enjoy the native keyboard. Would love to theme it but other than that...

I've tried custom keyboards (including swiftkey) but whenever one needed to enter a password it would revert to the native keyboard. Does it still do that?
