Is 10mbps fast

Hello everyone,hope everyone is well.I am a gamer and I asked my father to get fibre cuz the wifi service is slow.We are currently using Rain and it is very slow so I told my dad to switch to fibre.He ordered 10mbps down and 5mbps up from supersonic and it hasn't arrived yet.i just wanted to ask if 10 mbps is fast and what Ping u play on with 10mbps

10mbps is just the max speed, the ping would be latency which is a different measurement which should be much more stable on fibre compared to LTE

You should also connect your gaming PC/console to the router using a network cable to get a more stable ping/latency as your wifi coverage may not be ideal

To answer your question, 10mbps isnt fast for fibre (most ISP's now sell 30mbps as the smallest package) but as above the latency should be better then Rain/LTE

It's fine for actually playing, but you're going to struggle with downloads and patches running into tens of gigs...

Jokes aside, if you plan on ever connecting a Webcam, and host something like minecraft your friends will hate you.

If your fibre provider has 10/10 packages I'd rather go for that.

As others have said, ping will be great, and it is more than fast enough for gaming. However, if your mom watches Netflix while your sister watches youtube and you are trying to game, you will have some shouting matches.

It will still be better than it would have been on Rain though, and speed upgrades are quick and easy if you find you need a bit more.

Supersonic is MTN, it's a pretty bad provider.

Yes with an isp called MIND THE SPEED for R620 pm.. On average I use 650g to 700g pm.. Happy with their service and happy to recommend them
