Is a PS4 really worth it?

Where do you get that price? I pay R300 per month for my 4mbps uncapped account and telkom circuit.

Afrihost 4Mbps Business uncapped Bundle = R797pm, I'm currently on the 10Mbps + 50GB Cap Bundle for R450pm (the price has gone up in the last few months).

Well neither is a PS3 if you play BF4. I want to get a PS4 so I can play 64 player maps and not 20 players.

It really is exceptionally good, plus glad it has such longevity as a game. There's nothing like being put in a good squad, working together and keeping each other alive.

Only problem is how horrible I am at it :p

I Pay R249 for my 10mps with 3 adsl accounts :P

R189 for 2gb and 2mps line( downgraded 1 year ago from 10mps , still have 10mps line but only pay for 2mb line)
R60 Lantic afterhours uncapped
4mps uncapped fnb , free

I bought mine on day 1. Upgraded COD ghosts and BF4 which took a week to complete on a 4MB line.

- I love my PS4 but it does piss me off more than my PS3 ever did(except when Red Dead Redemption kept crashing and I had to run a whole harddrive scan to get it working each time).
- No real support for playing movies. (yes I can but it is nowhere as simple as the PS3)
- It uses all the capacity on a 4MB ADSL line when playing BF4. (the rest of the family whine like crazy, headphones do help though)
- It took a whole F#$%#$ing week to download BF4 and the content. (This pissed me off so much I am not sure I will ever be able to like this PS4)
- The PSN+ games are crap. Yes you can have a few minutes(or more) of fun but it's not like you get Borderlands 2 for free.

So I would say yes it is worth it if you have money to burn. But I still find myself on my PS3 from time to time.

PS. if anyone is looking for a really crap BF4 partner send me a pm with your PSN id and I will make you feel much better about your skill levels.

Get a PS4 when the Slim is out or it sees a price drop in 2015, but redeem your free games using PS+ in the meantime to your account.

Honestly? Get a Vita. If I had the sense to buy one when it received a price drop, I would have enough free games to justify the purchase through PS+.

I also don't see the need to upgrade a PC every two to three years. What are you playing on what resolution that needs so much power?

Personally, I buy multi-platform titles on the PS3 and get exclusives for the PC, and later on double-dip for the multi-plats if they appear on Steam and have a nice sale going on. Its easier to re-sell the ones that are popular and because I don't buy on launch day, usually, I can get half my money back if I trade it in for something else.

I tried the business uncapped before I left Afrihost and it was a waste of cash. I got better service on a faster home uncapped account than this for the same price. My Telkom uncapped is not far off the business account in terms of experince and shaping. And Afrihost do shape the business account.

I would rather wait until some good titles arrive on PS4 as well as all the software issues are sorted out. From what I hear, the PS3 OS and features are still far more superior to the PS4 which will hopefully level over the next 4-6 months. I do think that Sony will need to push out a revised PS4 version before xmas. Anything I can and want to play, I can do right now on the PS3.

Thought I would hold out with my Xbox 360 for about a year too, and then forked out for the PS4 in a moment of weakness. Really glad that I did!

There's enough games at the moment to keep you interested, especially if you delve into multiplayer, which eats up most of my time. Also with PS+ you'll be able to get Resogun (superb) and Outlast (to be released in a few days, which is very good by most accounts).

I haven't touched my 360 in almost a month, and probably won't again until Titanfall is released.

They do? I am on it and don't notice shaping in any form.

I logged a ticket and was told that it's my line to blame, so I need to deal with Telkom (the speed increased to a somewhat usable state very soon after I logged the ticket)

I'm going to New Zealand next month, so I'm not even going to bother dealing with this kak.

Anyone know where I can pick up a PS4 in Gauteng? Is everyone out of stock?

I also ordered my ps4 through fnb and waiting on stock. I've been on xbl for the past 5-6years and had ps3's in between but was never a fan of the control and probably stuck with xbl because most of my buddies were on there. So seeing that the xbo will only be released in october, ive decided to give the ps4 a go. Just hope I wont be disappointed!!!

The controller is not an issue with the new one, it's a huge improvement ergonomically. Just the battery life could be better.

Be sure to add your PSN Gamertag to the list: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/595211-Post-your-PSN-Gamertags-(PS4)
