Is a PS4 really worth it?

Outlast is epic. Haven't jumped that much since Dead Space. And not being able to kill just makes you feel more helpless...
 
As with any PS sales as I have seen the price is going to drop if you just wait it out a while. Your PS3 will do for now I believe. So if you are comparing the price to a nice PC, yes for now the price is about the same, but give it a few months. Unless you can just not bear your PS3 anymore and you can't resist the hype... But I've heard that PS4 isn't living up to the hype anyway, amongst my current gaming friends.

You need to follow the economic news a bit closer.

Have seen the affect the week Rand had on the PS4?
It moved from the release price - R6299 to between R6599 up to R6799 acording to Ster-Kinekor.

There is also the new tax that the government want to impose, although that will probably affect games.


So unless the Rand strengthens dramatically, a price drop is unlikely to occur and then you still have to couple that with supply and demand for the console.

According to Sony supply might increase in the region of April.

I think we would be lucky to see a price drop within the next 12 months, but it is only my opinion of course.

I'm tempted to get a PS4 now just so that I don't lose out on any of the free games on plus. My PC is working purfectly for modern games right now.

Are you saying I can redeem PS4 plus content (not much so far I admit) on my PS3?

The difference between the two is you're paying a once off fee when going for a console compared to the PC. The console also gives you a consistent experience where the PC not.

Don't forget that PSN+ subscription gives you access to dozens of titles each year. You would spend just as much on PC if you made use of GOG, Steam Sales and Humble Bundle.

Reality is its all about the exclusive titles and unique gaming experience each platform brings.

I got a gaming rig and im getting the PS4 (moving over from xbox360)

dont think about it as an all or nothing
 
just registered for u rewards ,but it doesn't accept my standard bank card at payment,anything you need to do for activation or something?

try credit card or just phone them tomorrow to link card

Dammit. Am so pissed. I bought a stupid ladder with my ucount rewards. i could have gotten the ps4 for 3500. I need to fall off the bladdy ladder now!!
 
LOL that was only about 20 consoles going for that price, its now R7k again
