Is AbsoluteHosting down?

Seems like widespread DNS ****ery is afoot at the co.za level.

Was able to log onto client portal.

Apologies for the delays in responding, we have managed to resolve the issues after replacing a failed switch, along with other issues after the replacement arrived.

Hi, one of my VM's, has not been able to communicate with the VPS since your outage. A ticket was logged the evening of Thursday and Friday morning received a response saying it has been blocked on your network. A reply was sent straight away, and this is still an issue. I have been doing the same tasks on the host to and from that IP since the service was purchased must be close to 6 months now, and now all of a sudden it has been marked as 'dangerous'. Please can someone look and resolve that ticket ASAP as I cannot function without that service, and if it cannot be resolved by end of day, I will need to look at my moving my business elsewhere as it has now been 2 full days of issues.

Please PM me the IP that you are connecting from.

Based on the info sent through to us within the ticket from our reseller, the affected IP participated in a ddos attack aimed at our network / another vps server which was running a gaming server on it and this is against our AUP.
 
Please can you urgently provide an update. There has been no communication nor can we get hold of anyone. This is ridiculous
 
This is insane. The downtime through Absolute Hosting is just unacceptable. All my databases and services are inaccessible. Getting called by clients as to why their system is down while they are trying to open up shop in the morning!

Outages do happen but the lack of communication after being down for almost an hour is just horrible. It says they're undergoing maintenance on their site (which is also down now) if that is the case how can you perform maintenance without telling your customers first?


Some of our businesses depend on these servers we can't be left in the dark like this it puts us in a bad spot with our clients.

Exactly the same boat that we are in. How can they not even have proper communication channels on updates for being down if it is on the weekend
 
Well, this is fun.... put some workloads on AH last year, been fine until now. What are the communications channels? Surely there is after hours support?!
 
Why do they host their own website... They need a backup in their DNS via Cloudflare, where they can swap out ip at least to put up a notice to say sorry something broke, maintenance, DDoS or w/e...

We got so many of our clients' Google ads disapproved this morning from a very short outage... this will cause us some issues to get them approved again and "restart" their progress. Then we also have active projects we're launching and building.

Yes, MyBB is cool for finding out, but why is the downtime now :D if it was planned maintenance as big as this, why no email? If it was due to an emergency like DDoS, why no Twitter or reply here? If they are still sleeping, that's something else. :D

I'd appreciate it if they could move their down time portal or front facing (not client account) login to another hosting so if their own one goes off where they host their sites - not everything like support tickets or down time notices goes down with ALL other sites too.

PS: A whatapp Broadcast or channel, support group would also be appreciated like a checkers 60 type chat... because these down times are now becoming a tradition it would seem. I like AH but I would appreciate better coms. Maybe even a "Discord" server for us IT guys to join, to cry together in when down times come. <3
