Agreed, but unfortunately it's not an excuse for Apple's fascism IMHO.Wise words, any developer with morals will agree, flash must die.

Good for you, but eventually freedom always wins out.if I get an excellent functional product why complain? if it bothered me I'd go android+ubuntu.
That empire that failed? I rest my case.It worked for the Romans
It failed when Christianity became the official religion, Fascism was replaced by a Theocracy.Good for you, but eventually freedom always wins out.

Well spotted - actually I am a developer and that was a before shot of a system we took on. It was bogged down due to a bad SSIS implementation. My development work is mainly focused on C# .NET apps connecting to Oracle 10g databases. Your 1.5TB database is pretty sweet, however when dealing with stuff like network call data you can have an Oracle database that exceeds 40TB. It then when partitioning becomes absolutely vital for performance. If my environments did not allow ANY headroom (as is evident in your screenshot, 16 threads across 4 cores all pinned at 100% utilization), and my systems felt the need to swap 18GB to disk, quite frankly I'd get fired, for bad capacity planning, and bad administration.

So no - I am not ignorant - I just have a lot of experience and references.
A microsoft developer criticizing apple while big-upping himself. What a complete and utter shock.
Go see for yourself. Apple's Snow Leopard source code is up for downloading:
http://www.opensource.apple.com/release/mac-os-x-1063/ ... nad that's not all.
Also, if you buy a Mac you'll be able to download the vastly superior Xcode
development kit at no cost, that will allow you to target Mac or iPhone/iPad.
Maybe you should spend 5 minutes with Google instead of sounding like you
have some deep-seated grudge against Apple?
Thus implying Apple is cross platform development, which makes them look awfully anti-competitive.Steve Jobs said:It is their (Adobe's) goal to help developers write cross platform apps.

Um, thats not the source code for SL... thats the source code (mostly) for some applications that Apple raped from the FOSS world (mostly posix stuff). Under the licences they have to post that code there. Theyre not doing it because they are supporting FOSS, more likely because they are legally obliged. Its nice that they are using some of the FOSS libraries and apps but that certainly isnt the underlying OS.
