Is evetech good or shady?

I bought 2 pc's components from them the latst 2 years, and various bits and pieces over the years, no issues.
Besides, their prices justifies a little bit of risk..

For the price they have it and the low risk of a CPU needing to be returned, I think it's worth it.

That said, I hate their and rebeltech's websites. Why can't they add proper filters?

Evetch custom PC build is probably the best there is compared to Wootware etc. Rebeltech's website is just plain awful. Looks like a cheap Wordpress Woo theme that they didn't even bother adjust.

Yeah, I have been a client for more than a decade and used to defend them. For the last year I can not say the same anymore. Now I am just another number on an excel sheet.

Well... For example see attached. This is a mining GPU. The only hint that this is a mining card is the letters "MI" in the SKU. Nowhere in the advert is the word mining to be found. I suppose it is OK since it works exactly like any other RX570. But the average Joe wouldn't think to look it up on Gigabytes website before ordering.

And if you where to look it up, you'll find that Gigabyte's warranty for this card is only 3 months. So you'll have to trust Evetech to honour the remaining 33 months. And then there's the 20% handling fee, which means Evetech is actually only honours 80% of the purchase during the warranty period.

IMO, if you find the same thing at say Wootware or Rebeltech and it is the same price or slightly more expensive, rather forgo the free shipping.

they are a legit place
there after purchase support and the courier costs outside of big cities is horrible though

They wanted to charge me R259 delivery for a mouse, next town over 10km away is free delivery.
Every other online company give me free delivery or max R70. I have NEVER in my life had a company charging me so much for courier fees. Then you still need to add insurance as they don't take responsibility for delivery. Now just think how much it is going to cost YOU to send and item there AND you have to pay again for courier back, aka Evetech exorbitant fees.

Back in the days when I was still a client they used to cover the fees and respond quickly to after sales. The last time I spoke to them they just said "Courier fees will now be on you, if you don't want to pay it you are welcome to organise your own courier".

So yes, you save when the item is a couple of thousands cheaper. If it is a few 100 rand then no, you never saved at all.

I also had a huge issue with the R259 delivery and on top of that it is not even guaranteed to be delivered the next day as you would expect at that price to be honest.

It is nice to know you can organise your own courier will think of that for next time.

After the balls up that is Ryzen 3900x doubt I will use them again. Getting spun some BS stories on their socials messaging which has gone and aggravated things more. Basically they are saying the 3900x'ers that they ordered have mysteriously vanished off the manifest.

The thing I don't get is despite all the warnings about evetech people still patronise them, like a moth to a flame. I hope you get your money back quickly.

damn i hope that doesn't happen to the 3600s

I think there might be a global stock issue on the 3900x.

This is true yes. But the way it is being handled is ridiculous. The BS they are spinning does not check out. One things for sure is they have mine and many others money in the bank.

Let me clarify - I couldn't be bothered to look for the post. You got a link?
