I never used mIRC.

The way back very old opera browssr had a built-in IRC client.

Then switched to irssi and never looked back.

I was actually on the #opnsense channel yesterday on freenet.

IRC is still around, just not what it used to be. Nowdays most people hang in Discord channels or Matrix's
 
Fun stuff. I remember using irc on the VT100 terminals at my university (before we could get dial up at home).

Prior to the (SA) internet, I also have fond memories chatting with the Sysops on the various BBS’s. Also playing Tetris with them while zmodem was downloading/uploading files.
 
Visited Shadowfire / zagamers a year or so ago - was around 3 people still hanging around.
Good old days.
 
Loving reading that old #Quake chat there from 20 years ago, Im in there, I was Gherkin back in the day LOL
 
irc.atrum.org is a local server

stopped using IRC about 3 years ago
 
I hung around the trivia channels. Might even have run one at a time.

No idea which servers I played on
