Is IRC still alive?

I still head to the Python / Django channel on IRC from time to time. It's super active too. So definitely not dead, that's for sure.

Yep mine too. I was quite young, it was 1997 i think and these 2 girls moved into our complex sharing a place together.
I saw them carrying a computer to their place so i started speaking to them and they were like, yeah have you tried online chat? I said no? They said download mIRC and connect to mystery.lagnet.org.za and we'll chat on there....

And the rest, as the saying goes, is history in the log files.
