Is it really that bad in SA?

...no thank you, we will never be like Australia...we will be better! And you right, if a schit was given, by the ****ers in charge...we would be world beaters...

ROTFLMAO. I want what you are smoking. See my previous post.

Cape Town is the only city I can afford to live in without having to work.

think its a lot of noise for nothing,
SA is bad, but could be worse, a LOT worse......

it depends on what you want in a country? and what you comfortable with,
there are positives and negatives everywhere,

the only reason the grass is greener that side of the river, is the amount of SH*T fertilizing it.....

Every country has crime, not every country can lay claim to having one of the highest murder rates in the world. I believe you have to go to Central America to find worse and if I am not mistaken we have the highest murder rate on the African continent. The chances of being murdered in South Africa are far greater than being killed by a terrorist in France.

Its on your doorstep regardless and to say crime isn't a problem in SA is head-in-sand stuff. And it may not affect you directly but it blights the society you live in.

Just because you don't see crime doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Clown.

Jesus christ neither one of you can read it seems to me.

Defuq are you on about.

Is said and I quote:

We don't have terrorist attacks we don't have natural disasters and we don't have NSA intimidation.

What we do have is crime, thats about it.

And quite frankly I choose crime over the fear having wondering when you will be blown to heaven and back everytime you visit a mall or public space with more than 10 Christians.

No - you said the following:

I live in a DA controlled province. None of that shiat applies here (:

All we have is the odd break in to steal a DVD player and the burning down of universities.

Nothing serious

And

I haven't witnesses crime in years, guess those anc provinses are really fcked

...

No - you said the following:

And

...

You guys just live in k@k neighborhoods ie it's the same all over the place. :D:sly:

Heck I recall when we lived in the UK there's more areas there where I'd rather not walk after 9pm than here.

Are you being serious?

According to this, terrorism in Western Europe is at is lowest levels since The Troubles.

Terror-related deaths in Western Europe between 2001 - 2014 numbered 402. Add in Paris (130) and Brussels (32) and that number goes up to 564. Murders in the Western Cape (2015)? 3187.

I know where I'd rather live.

Don't come here with your logic, and numbers!

Yeah, nothing wrong in SA. Everything's on the up and up. I can't understand what people are moaning about. It's the place to be. Heaven. Utopia

You know those numbers are quite sqewed if you look at the areas and demographics of those "murders" in SA

Methinks the lala landers are either very very well off and have not experienced much real crime (due to being that well off) or suffer ostrich syndrome. This place really is the shytehole it is and I would never come back to live. Hell, even coming back to holiday would take serious thinking.

What do you do? What are your qualification and experience? The job market here is very tough. Please don't believe any recruitment agency that claim it will be easy and that they have loads of positions in your field. Try to get interviews lined up before and if possible have a first interviews via Skype, before you make the leap.

Discounting the economic downturn which has hit all emerging markets, SA is better now than it has ever been. Still do your research before you make a big decision.
Lol no. Maybe for some, but definitely not for all.
