Is it worth getting a BB?

Dead simple, especially if you're using Outlook or Gmail...
 
Yeah, I figured there would be a few die hards here to run to a quick defense, but the simple fact of the matter is that it is dead easy for us on our computers when everything is updated and we remember all our passwords and pin codes.
But the moment you are working on a friends computer and he doesn't have the latest version of the blackberry desktop manager and he can't remember his password for his blackberry ID, then what should have been simple suddenly becomes a nightmare and you realise the shortcomings of Blackberry.

The biggest failure on their part? When you click password reset it never actually sends you a reset e-mail. Google it. I am not the only one to experience it....

Real Smartphones have moved passed that stage where a PC is required for backups a long time ago. I understand your frustration.

Contacts are trivial, just sync them with your gmail account. Messages are a bit more of a mission, when switching between any platform. Personally I don't see the use for old messages because I never go back and read them, but some people like to cling on.
 
if you can get a 9900 then go for it. on some days this stupid apple works on my mammaries.

You can backup online automatically with blackberry protect, it will do it in the background and if your phone gets stolen you can restore everything on to a new phone.

Been around since my last phone so almost two years... also has the stolen device feature, with tracking and blocking.
 
So what do you guys think of the new answer to the old BIS? Seems like a 200Mb limit is reasonable. Trouble is BIS is so bad right now for some reason, it's not going to help BB sell the new handsets and packages.

Except maybe the Z10. That actually looks interesting.
 
BIS - will be falling away (partly) soon as the uncapped part disappears. I have a BB 8520 and prefer my Android phone.

Blackberry is overpriced and under featured. I especially hate having to use my BB when BIS is slow / down - on Android I have EDGE or 3G and one of them is usually online.
