IS News Server down?

Tough call, grabit seems like it is the only working app at this stage. Either stop news traffic or switch to grabit.
 
I need some help, Im using grabit but im not sure where all my download files are going, i changed the default download folder to my download folder but after the files are finished on grabbit they just not on my pc??
 
Preferences > Folders > chose a folder and DESELECT Create separate folders for each newsgroup.

Check all your folders in grabit directory. Unless you delect the above it throws the stuff all over.
 
Ok tried that but that also didnt work, this is strange!

Ok had the same problem, it turns out grabit isnt decodeing my files look in your grabit cache file in the articles folder there will be a whole lot of files without extensions those are your files. I used yEnc32 to decode them and now they work. Oviously this is not ment to happen so can anyone tell me whats wrong/what im doing wrong.

Edit: The files will have names like "00111f78" and "03093978"

Ok I think I answered my own question allthough I havent tested it. I think this will help you Zubs.

"There is a bug in all 1.5 and 1.6 versions of GrabIt that can cause downloaded files to get stuck in the cache folder. The solution is to update the grouplist:

- Start GrabIt
- Click on the server you are trying to download from in the subscribed groups panel on the left
- Click on the 'Refresh grouplist' button in the top icon toolbar

Now try to download again and see if it works!

Note: GrabIt 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 had another bug that shows the same symptoms. Please upgrade to GrabIt 1.6.2 or higher to solve this problem."

is grabit free??? i am losing all hope of watching anything decent this weekend as my newsleecher is STUCK
 
so as long as I have nzb's tihs should work at the full speed of my line even with current IS problems? Also is anyone getting "air" with grabit or are all the files complete?

I've had no problems with Grabit; the only consideration with using nzb's is that the IS server sometimes lags a few hours behind the int'l news servers (so stuff that has just shown up on easynews, for instance, takes a few hours to migrate to the IS servers). Hardly a huge problem.
 
12Gb

Grabit is working great here. 12 Gb done so far. Not very fast right now. However in the last 24 hours managed 3 Gb. I cant really moan too loudly.

Pay to use the Shemes search tool. Its well worth it!

so does this mean grabit is now the same as other readers (eg newsleecher) where we can't get anything from IS?? WTF man!
what is up with these F&ckers at IS!!!
