if grabit was working fine for the past 2 weeks for u then the problem guys like me have is not with the newsreader but with our connection to the news server. there have been some people who have not had problems in the past weeks and many like me who are tearing their hair out at IS' imcompetance!
 
Grabit might be working, but my connection isn't. Right now it's sitting on about 4 K/s. It's been 2 months since I have seen a stable connection to the server. July I could still get a solid 100 K/s for about 98% for the month.

I have long given up on the IS servers. I'm using torrents again ;)
 
I gone from a very good connection with grabit to a very bad one. Seems the Issue iS with IS.
 
Well, la di da, no download for me from the news server today. I can't believe that I still have over 25gigs local left and nothing to do with it. Three cheers to IS. Hooray.

Im getting between 40-60 tonight. Using grabit. For some reason i think that certain resellers are causing news server issues. I have a webafrica local account and am unable to connect to the news servers, tried router resets, ip changes but nothing. Switch to Openweb local account and voila, pulling down happily. I dont know how resold packages affect the servers but it seems they are... Iv downloaded 3.6gb in the last 24 hours.
 
I am on OpenWeb. I'm getting 0.00 - 3.85 K/s on a 4 Meg line. Downloaded 109 MB in the last 9 hours. Good service :(

I'm with openweb, and dl'd a fabtastic 370mb over the last 10 hrs, and now, i'm concording away at between 0 - 7kB/s (thurs eve was great tho). so dunno if it's ISP related, I think it's more chaos than anything, just a russian roulette of download speeds. News server is the reason I'm with IS, and if the service keeps on suckin I aint gonna keep on truckin'

*edit* wow! I just posted this and my speeds jumped up to 20kB/s... hmmm...

Managed to get just over 3gigs in last 24hours... Feels like im on 384line.
ISP: openweb, friends with other IS resellers seem to be having probs even connecting...
 
I just don't get how some of us can run it and others not. Since yesterday morning I'm running flatout at no less than 400. I've even had constant runs of 600 for +- 5minutes.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I love IS
 
One thing i can say about IS, on weekend(such as right now) when the businesses are closed, DAMN my 4mbit is flying!!! streaming video, browsing, downloading, 2 other pc's running aswell.
 
I wonder if they have a max connection limit on that server. Since yesterday SABnzbd hardly ever connects and the one time it did I got like 3kB/s
 
would any of you guys having good download speeds be prepared to download stuff for me. I don't mind paying for an extra 30Gig local for you and you can have 15Gig for yourself and do 15 for me. I can email you the nzb's that i want. I am at my wits end with the news server and can't afford to miss prison break! pm me if intersted..thanks guys...
 
What do you want, ill burn and send it to u? U can pay for postage? I have pb, greys, atlantis etc
 
I am getting great speeds still on 384k. Found something out, was getting bad speeds and disconnects, then I dialed up again to get a different ip and then it worked. So keep reconnecting to get a different ip until it works. O ya I also shut down grabit before I reconnected... hope it helps!
 
Mine was working great for 3 days - now it's been dead for 2. The IP thing doesn't seem to work either.

Quite strange as it works fo me almost everytime :/
 
I have rebooted my PC, my router and my dog and so far nothing !

I switched everything off for an hour, but no mojo ... Bah ... its not us its IS, they not providing a complete service, why should I have to beg and plead to be able to appreciate what I pay for ??

Think I should dump IS, its not as if they actually care about me as a customer, at least with Telkom you know this from the onset.
