IS Shaping traffic/ Network Problems

I would like to say that ODS was not quite. But well done Mr Beep, with the collective effort we now have the problem solved.

very weird... my download speeds from news server on non-cached items are sloww..9kb. I used to get between 15-25kb on non-cached.

WTF!!!!

Yes, mine too, but I think they are throttling a lot during the day, check again tonight. you will see, mine were fantastic until around 7:30

I don't have an issue with them shaping during the day....as long as the evenings are still usable. I achieved great speeds last night ... close to my line's theoretical maximum.

wtf is wrong with you?

You are not all there. Honestly. Everywhere Mrbeep posts you try and get involved? are you in love or something.

what a f**king idiot.

Lol, now that was constructive :D Such anger when you have no idea if he did or did not do anything

He made it clear on this thread that he did nothing.

Only when its fixed does he post.

Thats what I call an idiot.

I think IS, made some adjustments to their shaping policy, i'm not getting the same speeds as i did before, during the day it was never this bad and after hours I would definitely get more than what I'm getting now!

It is a simple marketing scheme! They shape us all to death, for a week then they say it's a fault and they are fixing it we all, by simple logic can deduct that its some kind of shaping related issue as our http downloads are fine.

Then they adjust the shaping to be more aggressive than it was before but way better than the previous week!

Its based on the old joke where, the guy's daughter comes home and tells him shes pregnant, he freaks out and is in a state of utter shock, then after a while she goes to him and says: "Dad I'm not pregnant I just wrecked your BMW"

Same thing!!

Well thats my 10c worth!

ODS was not quite what? Involved?

Do you still maintain that your uncapped product is unshaped, and therefore superior to Openweb's?

@ASS_SAZIN: Your assessment is spot on.

The guy can't spell "quiet"...a lot of afrikaans speaking people get's this wrong occassionaly. Ek is ook afrikaans maar ken my engelse taal mooi. Hehehe.

Yeah, I knew it was a typo...

There's no doubt that the current daytime shaping is now way more severe than we are used to.

Better than the past week, but far worse than how things were before the "fault" occured.

My speeds burst to max for a few seconds, then slow down tending to zero, until another burst occurs sometime later.

Prior to the "new software" speeds were fairly constant. Somewhat lower during the day, fine at night. But this burst effect is clearly new.

...from the #myadsl

anyone else know about this possible IS move to Sat3 only ?

possible just will increase the cost substantially. Have a look at the differnece in price between IS uncapped SAT and Fibre.

erm i thought the fault was repaired, internet is crawling, torrent are still slow!.

nope, international taking long to load or times out, torrents crawling. local seems okayish...

Speeds are slow but I am still able to surf both locally and internationally on my local only account...anybody else on local only accounts experiencing this? OK found the thread I was looking for.
