IS Shaping traffic/ Network Problems

Is it just me? But IS international is extremely slow.

yup experiencing the same. Thought the network was busy during the day so never made much of it.
Its now after hours... and intl is so sluggish...

I'm getting a very dodgy connection to anything from my IS account all of the sudden. The connection is intermittent and more than half of my pings timeout to anything local. I am forced to use my SAIX account now for both local and international as IS is so bad!

I cannot believe they have not fixed the problem by now. It has been like this all month, bar a day or two where it was decent...

Ridiculous.

My IS account has been fine since last week Thursday. I'm maxing out my connection in the evenings

I'm getting pings of 700 on local stuff. My international is faster than my local if I use route sentry to split my local and int.

Still problems

I am still having problems with throughput. I notice a lot of packet loss and Telkom says they can not see anything wrong. What happens when you ping is that the first 20 packets time out and then the system becomes live with periodic packet loss.

Any ideas?

I played UT2004 last night and got a 28 ping and a 14 ping for BF2142, but international browsing was sluggish.

Int browsing is sucking so much it is unbelievable. I'm in Gauteng. Our office in Pietermaritzburg (shame)...is experiencing the same. The international link appears to be saturated, but IS is apparently working on it.

Was maxing out 1mb uncapped at a max of 20k yesterday.

Seems to paint a different story today. Getting fairly stable download speeds.

They're useless so whether they working on it or sitting around eating doughnuts will make to difference. I have been waiting since the beginning of the year for them to sort out a basic routing problem on their network, so if they can't get something as basic as routing in their network sorted what hope is there for them getting any sort of decent service going?

And they are the only suppliers of local bandwidth aren't they? There is no SAIX equivalent is there?
