Good on TK, don't forget the leaked "not finalized" 10MB/s TK Business uncapped end of October, pricing R4,224 incl vat ;) ....thanks kilos for the tip.

Doubt it, I think the 20gig account will come with 40 local, the 30 will come with 50 local, the 40 will come with 60 local

To get max value I might change to DoAdvanced but then get topups from another ISP.

Drop the R131 Telkom tax and they might have a new customer. For now I'm happily whoooshing along

Oh the joys of competition. Cell C really shook things up. They got Vodacom and MTN to respond, which in turn forced Telkom to respond. Telkom couldn't care less about MWEB and Afrihost and other ADSL providers, since they were still making a killing from voice line rental, ADSL line rental, and IPConnect fees. But now, when their network can be bypassed completely, and consumers can get fast, affordable and reliable high-cap internet, they're starting to sh|t bricks.

Telkom -> as tempting as these offers look, I will stick to Afrihost, MWEB and WebAfrica for my ADSL data. They care about me. You don't.

Cell C -> :love:

Looking interesting, especially the bundled offers.

these prices seem ridiculously high and are not competetive at all ..... I will +1 on fragtion comments.

Every time I read one of these stories I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Here is Telkom, our only fixed line operator, doling out a few lousy gigs here and there like a miser, and expects us to tug our forelocks and be grateful. On top of that they charge grossly inflated prices and then tell us they know what's good for us, treating us like naughty children. When all the time their mandate should be to provide basic, usable speed broadband that is affordable to the masses, as well as high-speed access that is affordable to the middle classes. And no more data allocations, when the information flowing through the pipes is fraction of the total cost there will be no need.

Now people might say, yes but... We have the technical skills, we have the know-how, and if they could find money to build the SWC stadiums they can find money for universal access. The one big difference between us and the rest of the world that has affordable, high-speed Internet, is the massive corruption endemic in government and current/former state institutions. If the political will had existed we could have achieved this long ago. Corruption is going to be the end of this country.

What about their official notification that the 9Gb bundle will be increased to 10Gb from October 2011?
I can't remember the increases for the other caps.

I suspect that this leaked information is a hoax and there will be much complaining about Telkom when it turns out to be so.

With Telkom you can never tell, nothing the company does makes any sense
