Is the Ipad worth getting?

I'm doing my last bit of research before taking the plunge and getting the IPad2. I plan to get the entry level 16Gb Wi-fi model. Just some questions to the current users:
1. I want to use my HTC Desire as a WiFi hotspot. Would I get decent browsing/youtube speeds or should I rather condsider a 3G model? I have uncapped broadband at home and at my favourite coffee shop, so use of 3G will be limited.
2. How much would I typically be able to store on 16Gb. I would probably have a few movies, some pics & a number of kiddies games & productivity apps loaded.

1. Yes. Should be no issues pairing via the htc and performance will be network related.
2. 16gb is more than ample but not if you planning on sticking a couple of 720p movies on there. Over the home network you can stream mp3's using home sharing in iTunes and using air video you can stream movies so 16gb is ample in this regard.

It's really an amazing piece of kit. Fundamentally simple in design and execution but incredibly versatile when you consider the 3rd party apps available for the iPad and portability makes it available in most environments.

Thanks @Sandmanm34. I just don't want to regret the purchase due to storage constraints and poor connectivity. I was dead set on an Android device, but lately it just have the hunch that the IPad2 will get me the best bang for my buck.

Thanks
