Is this the iPhone 6 killer?

I had CM12 running quite nicely. It certainly doesn't obliterate ios. For one thing the ui of ios even on an older phone is so much smoother. chrome on Android chugs down when you try to scroll quickly in a way that never seems to happen in safari. And the same goes for a lot of the other apps I use frequently.

I also get the sense that the touchscreen in the iphone is more responsive and sensitive. Literally the only thing I miss is the larger screen as my eyes are now used to a bigger font but on the flipside I'm typing this in bed with one hand behind my head and I could never have done that on a 5" screen.
 
Do you think perhaps you're set in your ways?
 
I'm not being horrible - but to have some of the best Android devices and swap them out for a 5S is a little bizarre
 
I had an iPad 2 for a few years that I sold for a Sony Xperia and I've got an ATV3 as well.

I've somewhat made a plan and it's along the lines of what I'd call a bargain. But waiting for Friday to see if it'll still happen. I nearly got one for R3000 last night but the woman's husband sold it before the ad went up :(

If stability and smoothness are your main concerns you shouldn't have been running CM 12. I won't be running it until around a month from now. My CM 11 is very smooth, and thanks to themes looks like Lollipop anyway.

I don't use Chrome. I find Opera Mobile renders as quickly but has a nicer UI. The touchscreens of Android flagships are no less sensitive than those on the latest iPhones. If you felt that way, something was very wrong with your phone and/or its apps. Just before typing this reply in Tapatalk I was switching between a bunch of apps, and stuttering would have bothered me immensely if it was present.

Wouldn't have brought the camera to iPhone level.

Pretty much all the Android flagships, excluding the HTC One M8, have excellent cameras. They can also record video in 4K if you so choose. It's not something I would worry about.

You know, any time I've ever complained about something in Android, I've been told that I'm doing it wrong. I had CM11, I had CM12, I had an S4, I had a G2. In fact I've had the following Android phones: S1, S2, Xperia V, S4, G2. But any time I've had anything to complain about all I get told is that I'm mistaken. I'm bloody well not. I know Android inside out, better than 90% of Android users and certainly well enough to form a view. And anyway, there has to be room for personal preference. I actually just prefer being able to use a phone with one hand - this morning I'm walking to my office and reading comfortably at the same time on the phone.

The touchscreens of Android flagships are no less sensitive than those on the latest iPhones. If you felt that way, something was very wrong with your phone and/or its apps.

This is what I'm talking about. The latency between touching the screen and getting a response. It's hard to quantify but I can tell. iPhone5 glides under my finger.

There isn't much stuttering in Android particularly going between apps. They've done a lot to improve that. What I'm talking about is the smoothness of scrolling particularly when reading longform text in a browser or an app. If I still had my G2 I could show a video of one particular app where the scrolling compared to iOS is an absolute joke.

But the iPhone is the best overall due to the optics and app quality, fast accessing of the app, fast focussing, fast and functional tap to focus, and consistency under any conditions. The complete package cannot be beaten - I always get a fantastic shot, no matter the conditions.

Anyone who mentions "sensitivity being as good on Android flagships" does not understand what we are talking about.

I've found Android flagships to be too sensitive, obviously to make up in some way for the ways they lack.
 
On paper the G2 should have had a much better camera than the iPhone. That's one of the reasons I got it. In reality it was this:

Don't know about that, the G3 has a much higher screen resolution than what the G2 had. I like it. Camera seems to be great as well.

BTW, I have a LG G3 Dual sim, and I wouldn't swap it for two 5S 32GB phones. That sort of tells you what the 5S is worth now, about R3500 max.

Actually, any used phones are not worth much. It is like Audi's and Volvo's, you lose 30% in the first year, and another 30% in the second year.
