I just thought innovative meant first with the technology.

They've been behind in pretty much everything so far - MMS, 3G, NFC, Wifi AC and 4k. It's odd to the see most innovative company lag years behind everyone else, you must admit.

You have a point with MMS, 3G (A generation late) and NFC but Apple were among the first to adopt 802.11AC with the MacBook Air.

As for 4K video... It's pretty pointless shooting 4K video that looks like crap due to small sensors, frame rates and the compression needed to fit on a mobile device. Furthermore, I haven't heard of a mobile soc capable of decoding H.265 yet.

Ok I'm going to return to something I said earlier:

You know, any time I've ever complained about something in Android, I've been told that I'm doing it wrong. I had CM11, I had CM12, I had an S4, I had a G2. In fact I've had the following Android phones: S1, S2, Xperia V, S4, G2. But any time I've had anything to complain about all I get told is that I'm mistaken.

I jumped through hoops to get the G2 to work for me. Yes I agree it got steamed up often with food - that was endemic to the lens itself. If I wiped it down before taking a photo I would frequently get better results, but why must I wipe a lens down to take a quick shot? I don't have to do that on the iPhone. That pic is totally representative of my entire photography experience with the G2. What else must I say?

Also I noticed that if I held them side by side outdoors the 5's screen didn't wash out nearly as much. That was a surprise to me.

Can you blame them? It's all their manufacturers have in order to compete against one another. And we have a new generation of folk who go by specs alone.

I'm talking specifically the iPhone. NFC was multiple generations behind - but regardless, they always seem to be behind and are very conservative. Hardly cutting edge stuff in the iPhones but, considering the market they're targeting, it is fair.

Until they roll it out in iPhone 7?
Then things would have improved and they would have perfected it?

4k isn't really that bad on the current Android devices, even if viewed through a 1080 screen.

Whatever. Fact is I will never pay R10999 for an iPhone 6 64GB . I was interested in a phablet iPhone but at R12599 for the 64GB it's just insane. The LG G3, OnePlus One and Galaxy S5 can be had for under R6000.

What makes NFC so special? Where are you using it?

I've had NFC since the Nexus 4, and my various Samsung devices. Didn't see the point, even with NFC tags.

Nothing to do with the market. All about the product, and the hundreds of millions of dollars they can make through Apple Pay. NFC is nothing but a conduit for a product. But I'm glad you can switch your phone's profile on your desk with those nifty NFC tags.

I use it to connect my Sony brand ; tap the back and connected. Though it can be used for keyboards, earphones and other accessories. I don't think Apple is that far advanced yet, but when they do you're in for a treat!

Well it's typically the older, non quite as technical type person. So being a little to the party doesn't influence them as much as it would the rest of population.

Regarding NFC, I use for accessories. I'm sure the Apple watch will use it too ... and then BAM, best.thing.ever
