Is Vodacare always this bad?

Im never even renewing my contract with them :)
Because of their service that is.

I have challenged the water damage excuse before many times, I have no idea how the liquid gets in there but sometimes it just does...
Vodacare are not always at fault.
The thing is the 'head technician" didnt even have the stones to come out and explain things to me. Which in its way is fine cos it gives me all the reason I need to continue kicking up a fuss.

Apart from the so far unproved water damage I also wanted to know how a piece of the phone went missing.

Blackberrys supposed to be exchanged and not repaired...
Unless thats changed.

Booked my Curve in at Vodaworld today due to trackball problems. They told me that they need to send it to RIM for repairs 7-14 working days. "RIM" is in the next building duh!!!!

Why can Vodacom not give the same repair service on Blackberry as on other brands.

My wife's LG KS360 was handed in to be repaired after it broke after just 2 weeks. The handset was handed in on 1 April, and I was informed that it was received at Vodacom Customer care yesterday! It took bloody 14 days to get from the Vaal Triangle to Johannesburg. That means that the phone has travelled at an average speed of about 0.30 km/h to get there. FFS, I can do a 100km cycle race in about 3 hours. This is well and truly pathetic! Customer Care my @ss! It is customer, I do not care.

Ask for pictures of the water damage and how it affected the phone.
If you have the phone and its the same as it was before and the number 2 button is still not working. Give it a few hard shakes or take to some to open the phone for you and clean the debris.
Thats what Id do.

Exchanged for a new one or reconditioned one in a plastic bag?

MTN is no different: Got two phones in repair (one insurance, the other warranty) for now 2 weeks and they have not even looked at the phone.

They say they're going to send me photos.

It should be replaced, I took my GF's curve in because it was dropping signal and calls. After about 3 weeks after moaning and backwards and forwards I eventually called the head office in Century City and spoke to the supposed "head guy" the following day there was a brand new phone sealed with a Vodacom sticker for us.

So off we go home open the box and what you know, NO battery in the SEALED box. So another 2 week wait for a battery.

Now we ask was that a brand new phone or a re-con unit? I feel your pain with these clowns and I hope you get sorted.

clearly V3G aint touching this thread with a 10ft barge pole...

Customer service in this country is all the same - shocking. Vodacom is not 2 be excluded from that generalisation.

I just hope and hope that i dont have similar issue, because i KNOW that ill receive bad service. Luckily ive been issue free...

All these "service providers" , are the same, as long as they get the contract, they happy! Screw the customer afterwards, they coud not care:mad:
I had an issue with a SP over my contracts, ( only 3 ), it took about 6 months of emails and phone calls to sort out, but it was eventually sorted.

Don't give up, give them carrots, be a pain the the ar$e. They will eventually help, go to the top, don't speak/argue with the okes on the floor. You pay for service!!!!!!!!!!

I had them (in this case the local Nokia repair outlet) claim that my phone had water damage. I took it into the Vodacare, told them that I was willing to pay for the repair and didn't care whether or not they thought it had water damage. They repaired it and it cost me half what the knock(ia)-shop wanted. I was still annoyed that I had to pay for a repair under warranty, but at least I got the phone working again for a couple of hundred rand. (It's still working now, a year later, my kid uses it as a spare at boarding school, when her main phone gets confiscated).

I think that phones have nothing to do with him, so I don't blame him for not commenting here.

He is here on his own will, so yes, he can or cannot comment, thats fair.
But this is not a "phones" issue, its a vodacom service issue.
Maybe we should all join the burning tyres for better service delivery fad.

I'm not going to hold it against V3G for not jumping in - first and foremost this is a customer service issue so its not really his bailiwick.

They (vodacare) have now asked that I re-submit the phone for them to have a look at the case however until they offeup the promised photos of the water damage I'm feeling a little reluctance to do so.

Tell the you want a 48hour exchange!!

this is quite typical of vodacom... i never walk out of a vodacare a happy customer... my phone comes back in a worse state than when it went in and thats now 2 phones that i have had doing that...

Exactly the same issue

Unbelievable! I've had the same issue since March. Last week I went back to Vodaworld and now they've told me that my Blackberry has water damage which they can't fix. I finally lost my temper and stormed to the Blackberry store and handed them the phone in a ziploc bag in pieces (as per Vodacom) and told them to keep their piece of crap phone. A R6000 phone and I have used it for 8 weeks. The service from Vodacom and Blackberry (RIM) sucks!!!
