why ?
well for obvious reason that mostly this section sees the light of what went wrong, how bad it was and how angry we are - nothing wrong with laying down your complaint, but its necessary to also give praise to that isp and the person(s) involved whom have sorted, helped or done something for you which was above average and made you pause and say wow they rock !

what ?

well, isp and person(s) involved, what they have done and why you are praising them :)

when ?
each time, this is not a once of *poof* we gone, when they did it and you want to praise - pop in here and lay it down !

Simple, this thread is praise(s) only and please do not post anything that is not relevant to this as complaints are not to posted here, but make another thread for them.

Form a Reseller Point I really can recommend Axxess , there control panel software is the best I have seen for a long time. The fact that you have control on your cell phone that is always with you makes it even better.
 
Openweb, Keoma! My Uncapped was getting really shoddy speeds. I enquired with Keoma via PM, and explained my experience. He swiftly responded in a couple minutes, and the same day it was back to full speed, and has been ever since.
 
Axxess, thank you for answering the phone immediately and providing fast, knowledgeable service! Also, your website makes ordering PrePaid semi-shaped a breeze.
 
i gotta give props to webafrica AGAIN. excellent support service, clued up "techies" and just an overall friendly and helpful attitude (the guy i spoke to today is Louis but they are all equally excellent). keep it up webafrica, many thanks!
 
Technically Correct LLC

Hi,
I was lucky enough to be given a test account from Technically correct LLC (www.technically.co.za) to test out their service.

The following are my conclusions from using the service:

1) International Ping time is fantastic. They advertise their service as a true unshaped service, and I do believe that it is unshaped. Ping times during peak time were much better than my current ISP!

2) Local ping time is slightly slower than my current ISP, but not too bad.

3) General surfing and internet usage - Couldn't differentiate from my current ISP. It was the same speed.

4) Price- Fantastic seeing as you are getting unshaped internet. In fact, probably the lowest I have seen for unshaped internet. (only R614 for 10GB)

5) I am not into gaming/voip, so I couldn't test those out, but I'm sure one would benefit from the unshaped bandwidth.

All in all, although they did take a long time to issue my test account, they were extremely helpful one the account was issued and even offered me a direct cell number to call, should I run into any problems.

Telkom, thank you for giving me a superb and fast ADSL line service as well as a excelent world class broadband experience.

Contrary to your experience I really need to give Telkom the thumbs up

Reported a fault over the weekend -- no ring tone on my ADSL line -- Telkom kept me regularly updated via SMS on my mobile.

Telkom tech phoned to make appointment and was here this morning at 08h30 -- on a SUNDAY.

Fixed the problem in about half hour. Swopped line over to a new spare pair and everything 100%.

Very keen pleasant and clued up tech busy doing his CCNA.

Please -- NEVER -- stand close to me and ever say anything bad about Telkom. :)

i just added my third webafrica account. a few online clicks and within 3 minutes (i'm not joking), i was already connected to the account using the bandwidth. thanks webafrica for making your online sign up situation so streamlined.
 
I would just like to praise Openweb for giving me outstanding service for the last couple of years. I am one of those customers that isps must hate, no contract, different product every month, often nothing for a month, constantly changing. Not once have I had a single problem, activation after my EFT usually within minutes. Good latency on their IS Fibre. Thanks Keoma and co.
 
Axxess -> My second good experience with them (no bad ones as yet), today I topped up my local prepaid, did the payment, in less than 30 minutes the data allowance had been added to my account :)

The previous experience was when I ordered a new service. I did the payment, went out for a bit, 2 hours later checked and it wasn't activated yet. Gave them a call (at about 22h00), the phone was answered quickly, my account was live within 4 minutes of starting the call.
 
Called Webafrica today about their 30gb IS account, they gave me all the info I needed, took my details and within a few minutes while I was on the phone they had sent me my logon details and I was online. Painless, and speedy....all I need from an ISP.
 
Webonline have been great. They waived their 200 rand refundable deposit when I complained, are cheap with 50 rand/gig, and they called me back from their website "call me" feature within about 60 seconds of me hitting the button and it was on a sunday evening! I was thoroughly impressed. And will use them until someone is even cheaper (other than vitality).
 
HOLY cr@p - Axxess was a breeze. logged in....got my details. did a ETF as im not a fan of credit cards online and within a day i have my details organised.this is the way too go...i know all im gonna do is go as mal as i can near the end of the month and have this axxess as backup so my ma doesnt shoot me.sweet....
 
I created my GConnect account, logged in and all happy, international bandwith with carry over for ~R50/GB - brilliant!

And I can use the same account to connect at a Wifi Hotspot, or using my cellphone. Sheer Brilliance!
