Julius Malema Firearm Discharge Case

Remember 13-year old Malema was armed at Hani's funeral, so well versed with firearms.

The National Freedom Party (NFP) has called for the dismissal of charges which AfriForum laid against EFF leader Julius Malema on Wednesday.

The charges relate to an incident in which Malema allegedly discharged an assault rifle during the EFF's fifth-anniversary celebrations at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape on Saturday.

"The case opened by AfriForum must be dismissed as the State is currently busy with issues of high importance. [We as the] NFP [advise] the National Prosecuting Authority to speed up their processes on cases relating to police officers of the apartheid era who murdered political activists," the party's head of communications Sabelo Sigudu said in a statement on Thursday.

The NFP referred to AfriForum's charges as a "populist stunt driven by a hatred towards black people".

"This is nothing but abuse of resources and [the] legal system, knowing very well that there are serious cases relating to crime, murder and stealing of land in South Africa which are still pending," Sigudu added.

"Malema has never killed anybody with the toy gun he used during their 5th celebration (sic)," he said.

Sigudu concluded that AfriForum should instead search for the man who handed Malema the gun.

So Malema's bodyguards use toy guns.... :erm:

Dear NFP

Which one is it? Is it a real gun or not? Make up your mind.

Yours

I think the charges are more political than anything else, Afriforum has beef with Malema, an opportunity presented itself and they seized it, end of story.
I would have expected the police to investigate this without charges.. But since we know they won't then it's good afriforum laid the charges... Political or not.. Juju more than likely broke the law and should answer for it..

I doubt it, more a case of them knowing how useless the NPA is. Got to get the ball rolling on private prosecution. Malema should have been in jail many years ago.

Actually, I have to agree with the AF here. The law is them to govern our civil behaviour and Malema needs to be taught a lesson that he is an equal. Next up we have every EFF, National Front member alike thinking this is the wild West or a-hem the wild East I may say.

Are you not a member of that too?

I'll respond (a courteous gesture). This was a response to someone else.

You reckon?

DK DK DK...don't get too excited. Settle down. Just because I disagree with far right opinion and propaganda doesn't make me EFF/DA/ANC/PAC/AZAPO (cough cough) or any similar party. See, unlike you, I acknowledge and applaud good and denounce bad irrespective of party.

Furthermore, I'm unambiguous when it comes to affiliation. I've stated many times that I've never affiliated and never will. I don't see the point of it other than fund raising. I'd rather donate to NPO's. However, I don't boycott elections.

Now, go ahead and call me EFF minion if it makes a difference. It's a default moniker for the locals™ after all.
