As the title is mentioning. Nothing unusual in this new South Africa of ours. 6 locals, 2 outside, 4 inside, armed with 2 pistols and 2 ak's or (r5's), rob a house in Kruisfontein near Humansdorp, 75km west of Port Elizabeth. One female was sexually assaulted in front of the kids etc etc. Property (and white Toyota Camrey) got stolen etc etc. However, what moved me this time around was the handcuffing with cable ties of ALL the victims including a 2 (TWO) year old child ! ! ! WTF And don't ask for the link because it did not made the papers yet.

Not sure about that. My dads black business partner was robbed(house when he was not there) and they left a note in Zulu or something that he was lucky that he was not there.
Glad he was not because he also has young children.
This was terrible for those involved and their family; luckily they made it through alive.
As for tying up the 2 year old why you are making a fuss about that, would you rather they lock the child in a cupboard or roll it up in a duvet? These are criminals they are not nice normal people
As for that comment about it been blacks you guys need to take of your blinkers regarding black on white crime, it is bad but there are many many more instances of black on black crime and they are just as violent if not more. The majority of them never even make the papers unless they are particularly gruesome

Is that because the SAPS hides them. They hide the crime figures as well - that's a given.
No because they are not considered worthy of space in the paper.
On an average weekend in the township in my area I used to get 2 murders, numerous rapes, plenty of assaults etc
The average white person has no idea what goes on in the townships especially the poorer areas
As for hiding the stats many cases didn’t even make it past the detectives since they wouldn’t be able to find the complainants, witnesses or even suspects.
Unless the person knew or recognized their attacker there would be no way to identify the suspect

These things happen everywhere, everyday almost 24/7. Most unreported. With the economic woes and the dumb Government(s), I am sure crimes like these will only increase as we head into 2012.
If you can afford so, please install security in your house, I am not talking about ADT. Install your own motion detector lights equipped with CCTV. Plenty of apps that also let you watch the CCTV footage on your phones no matter where you are.
Have a dog if possible and of course learn how to use a weapon because no one cares more about your own life than yourself. Simple as that.

Ye I would agree with that actually. But dont you think it is the fault of the cops when they automatically write off a case as 'No point in investigating further'? I understand understaffed, underskilled etc. I understand that there are good cops out there. But isn't this 'give up before you have even started' very unpolicemen like behaviour? And it is the norm, not the exception.
I know of many cases that don't even make it past the front desk. Never mind the detectives. I know of at least 4 cases, personally, where the reporting person was turned away by the policeperson on the front desk. Without even taking a statement or report. And that is not even a racially motivated action. Because the victim was black, and so was the policeperson, in all of the 4 cases. It just boggles my mind how even in a case where the victim can identify and indeed point you to the house of the criminal. The cops still turn it away with every excuse.
One of those cases was a woman that went to the police to report abuse and assault by her ex husband. He came to her house and when she asked for the maintenance money, he ****ed her up badly. She went to the cops with a broken nose, black eye, split lip, bruises on her neck, face, arms and torso. The cop behind the desk very frigidly said, sorry, we dont deal with domestic disputes. You must sort out your own home issues.
Note, this was assault and done by her ex husband, so it could not even be considered a domestic dispute anyway.
R/SGT I know that you like to advocate for the cops. I agree that not all are useless and evil as we all like to claim. Some are hard working, upstanding people that want to keep their area safe.
Most are useless, power hungry, waste of oxygen morons that should be drawn and quartered. It is just the reality, and it is despicable.
