Just paid for the ring.
Platinum solitaire setting with an emerald cut. 1ct, F, VVS2
Ratio of 1.51. Table is 61%, Dept is 60.4%
IGI report looks pretty good.
I chose lab-grown because I don't feel mined diamonds are worth it, and because I could get a larger stone for my budget. Its a Chemical Vapor Deposition grown diamond. Type IIa
Pretty excited for it. So now I just have to wait the 4 weeks to get it made. Thankfully I am only proposing in late Dec, so there is no rush (but not telling the jewller that).

Congrats! I went the natural route. What was the price dif between lab and natural?

She knows I was in the process of buying it (she just doesn't know I have). She picked the design because I am not dumb enough to give a girl a ring that doesn't suit her style and her little girl dreams. So she picked the ring/setting and I picked the diamond (after becoming an amateur gemmologist over the past few months).

Congrats. Wish you all the best. In spite of my divorce, I know it's an exciting time. I ordered an engagement ring from Jenna Clifford, was a great experience.

I still have my ring, hidden somewhere. Have not seen it since she left.
Her wedding ring on the other hand. Was an R300k piece. A gift to me from my late mother. Bless her soul.

Then they broke into the ex-wife's house and stole everything. I would give anything to have that ring back. My mom lost my sister in 2009, so I was the only one left to make her a granny and get married.

Anyway, congrats again and enjoy it.

Thank you.
I guess we all fear divorce these days. The question is... is she worth ignoring that fear. In my case I believe she is worth it.
