Know your consumer rights!

its not spin its the simple terms and purpose of s48
suppliers must not engineer terms of service or charge pricing that is designed to cause harm to the consumer

this is clearly stated in the purpose of the Act at s3(1)(d):
d)protecting consumers from-
i)unconscionable, unfair, unreasonable, unjust or otherwise improper trade practices; and
ii)deceptive, misleading, unfair or fraudulent conduct;

because we've established that you don't understand bandwidth or the essence of a voucher you really can't seem to get a grip on the reason for data expiry and how it drives DOWN the price for the consumer

What you don't understand is that the average user don't want to roll over the same data bundle for years, but only for 60 days, maybe 90 days at the most, depending on the size of the bundle. One don't need a Master's degree in bandwidth to understand such an allowance won't cause the network to implode

O and btw if an MNO were to offer data with an expiry of longer than 25 months they would be violating the CPA due to an inability to guarantee supply because of technology adjustments

The average user don't want to roll over the same data bundle for years, but only for 60 days, maybe 90 days at the most, depending on the size of the bundle.

There are bundles available that expire in 30/60/90 days. Why punish the supplier if the consumer wilfully and without any duress purchased the wrong voucher AND then activated it?

WBS who owe ICASA millions of rands in licensing fees?

Show me the millions of users who want data to expire on 3 year terms at R2 per meg for all data

No. Go read back in the Broadband News section. Some of us do actually know what is happening in the SA telecommunications sector.

I'm speaking from personal experience. No problem with iBurst from my side, only from Vodacom!

Not sure what you're talking about. If I buy a data bundle by dialing *111#, there's no option to buy a 60 or 90 day bundle, everything is 30 days. I'm talking from experience.

so you've only explored 1 product articulation channel and you've concluded that there is insufficient consumer choice and the consumer is treated unfairly into choosing a value carrying product

Your assumption is again incorrect. I've researched the big 3 and found iBurst to be the most attractive, service wise and money wise. For R198 pm I get a desktop modem + 10GB data peak time + 10GB data midnight to morning + 3 year data roll-over + fast download time. Add to that the wireless functionality which means the modem can accompany you anywhere. No limitations with fixed lines and paying for ADSL line. Truly value for money. Do you know of any other SP that can beat that?

this is starting to sound like an advertorial for iburst and your seeming hatred for VC might be tied to having a hard on for iburst
be that as it may how the **** do you include iburst in the big 3?

A good service and a good product will gave anyone a hard on. Stealing of data bundle surely diminishes one's desire.
With big 3 I meant the usual suspects, Vodacon, MTN and Cell C which I compared against iBurst.
