lag every 1min

Hi there guys,

I have recently started to encounter this problem where all my online games, ( mostly FPS) have a spike in latency every 1minute!

I have run spybot, picked up a few malware, fixed them but it didnt solve the problem. Avast is not updating every 1min so it cant be that either.

Cant seem to pin down where its coming from.

Windows7 is my OS.

Do u guys maybe have an idea what the problem could be?

what type of connection are u using buddy?

Its a 4MB adsl line, on saix bandwidth.
The same happens on IS.


I guess it must be something on my PC?

If you have any Adobe product install make sure its not that thats trying to access the internet. I had Adobe reader and that also happened to me with my online games.

It is windows 7 dude, it has networking problems.

when i play bf 2 for instance my ping bounces and the lag is so bad i load up windows xp

Luckily I dont have any adobe product installed.


My games were running fine on windows7 up until yesterday when it all started. Using win7 for about a month now

Yea how can say this but windows 7 seems to be fine in the beginning and then the network gaming bug hits.

I could play bf 2 fine when i first loaded but now it's so bad i use xp

Firewall is off.

I dont think Steam can become corrupt? if so then it would auto-update itself to fix the problem.

Il install winxp in virtualbox and see how the games run

It seems you pretty much tried everything and exhausted all possibilities, but this could be a simple mistake. Any chance your browser open in the background while playing games?

I had problem with Call of Duty sometime back. I used to get that lag every 1 minute because browser refreshing pages in the background.

Hello i just bought a microsoft wireless keyboard elite and the mouse with it everything is fine with it, its just that i cant play games with it example (Counter Strike Source , Battlefield and combat arms ) when i press the foward key "Z" and turn the mouse my player stops running so really i cant move and look around or shoot at the same time so i get killed all the time so i am wondering if anyone has got a solution to my probleme and please don't tell me that wireless keyboards are crap i know ok so please just give me a solution to my probleme i have tried putting in another keyboard and it works but my old keyboard don't work anymore so im stuck with the new wireless one that dont work on games.
please answer back fast.
