@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

From my understanding, originally the FPP + Bolt-On was not supposed to exist ? but users signed up and then they discontinued that but you could still get the bolt-on addon by signing up for a g4g 1GB free account. Now the bolt-on has been discontinued but the original products still available. Just no bolt-on uncapped addon :/.

no more bolt-on? I wish we can have damn communication around this stuff. seems we find out about this stuff by the way on here.

Not that it helps you with your issues but I'm still getting perfect speeds on my 10mb line, no matter the time of day, by far the best package combo I've ever been on

apparently the northerners are fine according to the cavedog but we in cape town are suffering a bit peak times.

I wholeheartedly agree. They gonna get a mail from me if not in person about this :D.

/no disrespect to Voxy and cvanwie who keep us informed.

My goodness, I am soo glad I got my uncapped bolt-on activated on Monday! Applied for it end of last month and asked for it to be active from the 1st of this month.

Seems I just got it in the nic of time!

Same here. Got mine about a week ago. I'm still sad I've missed the fatpipe + Bolt-on, atleast normal bolt-on is better than no bolt-on.

I've been on this package before the change . I assume I'm still on it?
If so, would I be on The unshaped package?

Yes you are still on it, and if that's what you bought then that's what you have. =)

Chris

I'm on the unshaped platinum and I have never used excessive amounts of bandwidth. Yet I still see some protocols being shaped. I think the big dl'ers have killed Bolt-on :(

CPT is a bit saturated; it's being attended to.

Chris

There's no communication about this because it's NOT a reality. As always, as transparent as I can...

Last week the product managers sent out a list of service offerings which needed to be disabled and a list of new service offerings. The G4G product was on both lists. The problem here is that the G4G product had a significant change and was delayed in being released. This was resolved about an hour ago. The G4G + Bolton is available and is NOT discontinued.

Contact the Consumer Sales department at 0878050003 (follow sales prompts) for such product.

Rumors are bad.

Regards,
Chris

I'm busy with the following, if there's a protocol you're using I'm not let me know and I will test

Torrents
NZB
MEGA.CO.NZ copying
YouTube downloading
vpn
Normal Web browsing and email

Let me help you here... We shape Peer 2 Peer under times of congestion.

Chris

If i had to shout how saddened i am, my granny will think someone is going mad here :/.

Don't shout, just call and order your G4G + Bolt on, and please ... that "Vox Unofficial notice - g4g + bolt-on product is now EOL [existing customers on bolt-on are fine]. Thanks to "M" for discovering this...." really should be removed as it's untrue and misleading.

Thanks Yuu!

Chris

What has changed with the g4g + bolton?

BTW I had a typo in my original post. I meant to say "it's NOT a reality." My bad!

The change to the product, from what I can see is that it's a flat product, no longer is there gold/platinum/etc, it's just one flavor.

Hmm, interesting... So what is that flavour? The same as fat pipe then - unshaped?
Also what is the price per GB then...

I just got the 'new' flat g4g package and it says "shaped" next to it

Spoke to a sales guy who said that the g4g itself is shaped, the bolt-on isn't

in the end all is well and I am very happy with the service received by VOX in sorting this out ASAP.

As of now I have 50GB FP, g4g with uncapped bolt-on :D

HORRAY!!

The G4G product is now only a shaped account.

The flattened structure removed the "Platinum" version which was an unshaped setting.

Further, the Bolt on, follows the shaping rules of the G4G product, which is shaped. (@MikyMouse -- not sure why Sales told you otherwise, but I'm dealing with it now)

That is unfair, how come you got FP with bolt on and I did not? :O

What about clients who had the Platinum before this change, do they get to keep it or do they also get downgraded?

He has 2 separate accounts, one FP, and one G4G+Bolton.

Regarding previous, they remain intact.

Wow shot for all the posts cvanwie. It truly welcomed.

Yeah the Vox network is as solid as can be KZN upwards. Best account that exists. Glad the roll over issue seems to be fixed too.

I was wondering though is it not better to follow the data usage as first in first out instead of new data in new data out first before rolled over data?

I don't think it really matters but strange way of data being used.

The results I am getting and what you are saying conflict.

As I am on the platinum, for the first time in 6 months I cannot stream youtube without buffer. My line is 100% synced at 6mb as it had been for the past year. Nothing odd on the modem stats, yet the performance isn't anything near what it use to be. I believe something has been changed which went hand in hand, with the discontinuation of the Bolt-on. :(
