So found equipment I need urgently on this site
https://www.laptopdirect.co.za/
But there is no way to actually speak to a person for support or queries. The only communication is via fax and email. Also all sales are handled offline. So your checkout sends a request for a quote and then you get a reply. Before ordering you got to request stock and then EFT before any ordering takes place.

Seems a bit dodge to me. But has anyone used them before?

Ive tried to use them before without success. They have been around for ages, not sure if that helps though.

Be sure to check the steps to order. Only pay once they verify that they can get stock.

Haven't used them for ages but they used to be good + quick with mail - I mostly used the ComX site

ComX

I used them last year. Price was good. Daughter picked up the item at office in Centurion. Was happy with service.

Her words " Just like son, really bunch of computer Geeks". (compliment)

Business model seems to be source on order at discount & supply to customer aat markup.

I will use again

yes. paid for laptop battery that never arrived. was never refunded. all done purposely to spite me for questioning their service levels. check their google reviews. owner is a prick of note who is quite the "tough guy" behind a keyboard. small claims court in also useless unless you live in the same city as where the company is based. but they also dont collect registered letters for letters of demand so going after them legally is basically throwing good money after bad.

owners name is Christopher Riley.

They used to be good, but in the last few years they've taken a serious knock to their reputation. Stuff is often out of stock, they don't pull old listings from their website fast enough, and they're really slow to answer queries.

Also their Twitter timeline is slightly concerning: https://twitter.com/LaptopDirect/with_replies
