Lars Reichelt resigns as Cell C CEO

you know one of the main things he did very well and that the new ceo should take note off is this, HE LISTENED TO US THE CONSUMERS if the management and new ceo can simple do this then of course cell c will grow from strength to strength

I took a chance with cell c 3g last year and it didn't work out, but having seen how they(Lars & Cell C rep) reply here has always made me think of cell
c as an alternative at least for the future, that's if they improve even though they still have problems I'm guessing.
Will be interesting to see(and hopefully good for the consumer) what happens from here.

Really sad day for Cell C. Big loss for them and mobile telecommunications industry. Let's hope that wherever he lands, that he can make a huge contribution there too.

Oh, no!

Now who's going to argue with me about '4G'?

(I'm literally on page 16 of the reply to Cell C's latest appeal at the ASA - must I now stop? ;))

But, to be honest, I can only concur with rpm, Lars definitely brightened up the local telecoms landscape. :)

We all wish him well in any future venture.

I am personally sad to see Lars leave Cell C – not only because I think he did a lot of good at Cell C but also because he was one of the great personalities in the South African IT space. He shook things up, and that is not easy to find. I hope we see him emerge at another South African telecoms company.

Not to mention that he actually joined & commented in the MyBB forum a few times!

Very sad to see him leaving, but maybe CellC kept him too busy & it's family time now.

I want to wish Lars all the best for his future plans.

say you doing cart wheels in the office.....lol
just kidding

Lars is German aint he? Maybe he simply wants to return home?

Good luck to him. Cell C will be hard pressed to find another CEO that is that cute! :-)

Brightened up the local telecoms??? He bent you over, like you did SA for years, and made you feel like it was your first time! ;)

Lars - THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!

i don't understand why cell c allowed him to go,they should match his offer, don't please competitors by letting this guy go,

Should credit be given to Lars or the Cellc board ?

Would he have been fired had he not resigned ?....... the corporate world of CEO's is a murky place to be in at times !!!!

we could ;)

Show me the money

While Lars did a great marketing job for Cell C and induced the other operators to reduce costs, did and is Cell C making money? I don't think Cell C's subscriber numbers have improved significantly during his tenure as CEO (no indictment on Lars). There is no doubt he made waves and Cell C became more noticeable in the public eye, but this is a tough market and if you don't make money for your shareholders (despite spending a lot on marketing), then they will tell you to go.
Anyway, be that as it may, all the best for the future Lars.
