Lars Reichelt resigns as Cell C CEO

CEO's don't leave with 'immediate effect' for personal reasons.

I would suspect its more likely that the Board is very unhappy about something which happened, and the separation in this fashion was negotiated to avoid unnecessary public attention.

Whatever, like everyone else, I will be very sorry to see him go. He remains, AFAIK, the only cellphone CEO to have joined My BB and posted comments here.

Ook is saddened to see Lars go, and would like to wish him all the best in any future endeavours and ventures.

Maybe get some local talent? if there is....
Guys from abroad tend to come in...get it on track then leave after a few years...
 
It's because of all the mybb " Open Letters to Lars " complaining about the battery life on their R399 phones.

Strange, my company has added close to a 800 subscribers to his user base since the new CellC deal came out (and I run a small ISP in the EC). He enabled us to make him and CellC a lot of moola.

Lars man.... why did you go :(

It’s all good he shaken up the broadband space and the consumers are happy? What about his employers who want bonuses equivalent to their counterparts in Vodacom? This man was fired for not raping the consumers or let me rather say he failed to deliver the fat bonuses for his masters sitting on the Cell C board. On the flip side, 8ta is being running without an MD since inception; let me not say much but no need to worry, more broadband pricing innovations and excitements still to come with the same man y'all love, on the cockpit.

This is probably most likely. 99% of such things are always related to not making enough money or he wanted to make some more drastic changes to Cell C but the board of directors and other top execs did not agree with his plan(s).
