Latest iPhone update is causing battery problems

@bwana ,@Spizz and @Kola_CT I've finally figured it out,

why people love Apple and defend it so vigorously.
and why myself and other Android guys (@wizardofid) , cant understand why you would ever spend that sort of money on a phone.

it all comes down to the Value you ascribe to things.
I value, functionality, reliability, upgradeability and ease of repairs anywhere.

you value other things,
Design, and more premium feeling materials and simplicity of operation, and not necessarily value of the phone.
and its okay,

its honestly okay to love those things, everybody is different.

one who drives a Toyota Corolla, and one who drives a BMW, are different, clearly have different value systems.

but what ISN'T okay.

is EXPECTING Apple to play Androids game, and keep their phones going for a nice long time, or the Battery after the contract is over
keep working as it was new, again, thats not Apples Business model.

just like BMW's business model isn't for you to keep your old car going for dozens of years after the motor plan has expired.
or for you to visit any garage with your Fancy X7, and fix it at Siphos bush garage, and he will figure out why its misfiring.
or can rebuild the VANOS system or the cr@ppy plastic engine parts that break constantly

point being, everybody's value system is different, I would never own a BMW, just like I will never own a Apple device in a thousand years.
I dont see ANY value in it, never have, and never will, and Yes, I have used a Apple, just like I have driven a BMW, and didn't understand the value in buying such an expensive piece of cr@p, nothing wrong about that.

so when I see Apple people complaining about the update is breaking the phone, I say
What did you expect? you KNEW what you were buying, you KNEW what you are signing on to,

what is there to complain about? you take what you got, and throw it in the trashcan,
and buy another, as thats what Apple wants you to do.

same too, if something expensive breaks on a BMW, like a VANOS system in that fancy Dual clutch system.
costs more than the car in many cases, again,

you KNOW what you signed on to get, deal with it, DONT complain,
you didn't buy a Toyota Corolla, you CANT fix it anywhere you want, even an Independent Mechanic for BMW's is Probably richer than you.

TLDR: pointless complaining about a companies business model, when you Know Perfectly well what they sell,
deal with it the way they want you to deal with it, upgrade your Car, or buy another phone,

you value other things,
Design, and more premium feeling materials and simplicity of operation, and not necessarily value of the phone.
and its okay,
Sorry - I value reliability and durability. My MacBook was 7 years old before I broke it the other week. My phones are all hand me down iPhones that other people have given me and are already 'old' by the time I get them.

The question you should be asking yourself if why are you so interested in Apple? Do you believe it's a healthy obsession?

The question you should be asking yourself if why are you so interested in Apple products?
and the Answer to that, is Why do Apple people constantly complain about Apple?
honestly why? no point to complaining about an overpriced, dumbed down, premium feeling phone, when you know EXACTLY what it is, and what they sell.

if you dont like it, get a Android phone, stop bleating on about Apples updates doing X or forcing you to upgrade,

you knew what you signed on to get, if it still works for you great,
keep your macbook for a thousand years for all I care. get buried with your mackbook even.

but but but,
when it breaks, as they inevitably ALL do,

DONT expect to come crying and saying its broken and Apple wants more than the price of a new one to fix it.
same to, when Apple releases an update that breaks functionality on an older device,

DONT come crying saying its forcing me to upgrade,
buy another one, dont complain, EVER! you know what you got, and how Apple works,

disposable phone if ever there was such a thing.

No, this might be true of some people, but it is more you justifying your obsession with something you hate to yourself.

Most people I know use phones as tools which just need to work, the same for laptops and tablets.

In our household of 4 people we might get one new phone every two years, and it is never the latest model, the other three are previous model hand-me-downs, you can work out how old the oldest one is.
We do the same with laptops, and only my daughter uses a tablet, and it is also used as a tool, not for fun.

There are of course exceptions to this.

And if people want to complain about something wrong with a tool they own, that is quite OK with me.
What I find fascinating is people complaining about tools they do not use, or about the people who use the tools.

Reading this, you really should get help.

You're one of the biggest complainers in this thread and you've demonstrated a less-than-adequate knowledge on the brand.

Not too fussed about what phone I have but got an iPhone 6 3 years ago, not a single issue battery still fine 199 bucks a month on contract.

Edit : Make that 4 years ago

This is what I find fascinating.
It would be funny if it is not really sad.

My goodness. What arrogant nonsense. Apple people all in here saying how much they enjoy their products and the Android user is moaning like a schoolgirl with wet panties.

And as for breaking and price, I told you the price of my phone was far cheaper than an Android flagship, you didn't comment. And I have had lots of iPhones and none of them have broken. My Samsung S4 nearly exploded however, (and you'll be shocked if you know what the Note 7 did). Only time I've had a phone break

But hey, surprise surprise, if I go to an Apple forum or a Samsung or Nokia or Mara forum, I'd expect to see people asking questions about problems they have with their products. It's why forums exist. To chat and help and explore their tech. But as for breakages, I guess I don't have your strange obsession with a cell phone company I don't use so who knows what's going on there?

ok, its your cr@ppy judgment, not mine,
and Im stating the facts, you Apple fanboys get very defensive over your half eaten fruit,

almost like a Cult might get defensive over "their" leader.
and I'm okay with that, each to his own I suppose.

just dont complain, thats all I ask,
simple ne?

We will all appreciate that, you should really try

You started out fairly well yesterday but at some point turned to waffle, and that is now your go-to.

We get it, you hate Apple, you think it is a cult, it is OK.

Only tool I ever hated was the hammer I dropped on my toe, and that was just very briefly.

Or how about I'll do what I want and if you don't like the Apple threads, don't enter them?

You're the one complaining.

This will probably be a huge trigger...one I will agree on as being silly, but am quite OK with other people buying with their money if they want to.

iPhones dont have Apps like terminal emulator or wifi analyzer.

Apple is useless for IT folk, but thats a topic for another day.

this is in News, not Apple fanboys are us,

and yes I'll go into Apple threads , if only to ask a question for somebody else who asked me and I dont know.
whats wrong with their Cult of Apple communicator device.

but they do have the soul of Steve Jobs,
I believe if you press about and then hold your wallet over the screen, you'll see it materialize out of the screen to grab your money.

The clue is in the title, but regardless. You can froth at the mouth at Apple as much as you like, and I'll discuss my products as much as I like. We have an understanding.

But I have to ask, despite all the evidence and the answers to your unfounded accusations, why do you continue to ignore the facts around many Apple users on this thread telling you they are perfectly happy with their goods and continue to trot out the same tired old clichés?

My phone is not expensive compared to many Androids. You ignore this.

None of my iPhones have broken. You ignore this.

I've owned and continue to own more Androids than Apples, so feel I can make reasoned informed choices. You ignore this.

No one is "bleating" about updates of being forced to upgrade except you.

I'm not getting defensive, I'm just pointing out you are in fact talking complete and utter schite. Yet you keep saying these things for some reason despite being told otherwise by actual users. In fact the only bleating I ever see on MyBB is people like you who don't use Apple, coming into threads about Apple and calling people who choose to use their products sheeple.

Don't like Apple of their products, cool, don't use them, rip them off if you've had a bad experience. Fill your boots dude. But I can't for the life of me imagine why because you struggle to operate an iPad, that you think everyone else is or has the same use, needs and experience as you have. As I said, weird, weird behavior.

geez dude, BMW may not be my own personal favourite car manufacturer, but you took a discussion about mobile OS's and compared it to servicing your high end german engineered SUV at a bush garage?

To be clear here, I wouldn't get my corolla serviced at a bush garage either.

I am not a fan of Apple products myself, and I make no effort to hide that fact, but it sounds from this post like you just don't like nice things, and judge people who do.

IMHO ;-)

Well I have to stop you there a bit. :)

I never actually once said I like android in this thread, sure I use android devices, tablets, phone and streaming devices ect. Android has its own set of problems and annoyances.

I use android devices because it offer best bang for buck performance. I mean seriously, getting a 10 inch android tablet with 6gig ram and 128gig rom for 3k, from websites like banggood and gearbest, who wouldn't jump at that, it is seriously good value for money.

Now the apple camp would probably start saying at 3k it can't be any good, well the thing is, the tablet market in china is highly competitive and is priced accordingly.

There is a R1900.00 price difference for the same tablet just with more space. Unless the extra space is diamond encrusted paying almost 2k doesn't offer great value for money. You could buy almost 3 teclast m40's for that.
The m40 is pretty much on par with these tablets, with the exception of the chipset and edging out here and there, which I can understand costing more it is 70-80% faster after all, the ram and rom not so much, it doesn't offer great value, and with a full metal body that could with stand a shouting match between kurt darren and the EFF, durability is also pretty moot when you look at the teclast tablets and quite a few china tablet following suit as of late.

The only reason I use android is because it is cheaper, and really does offer greater value and durability on the price/performance front, samsung and huawei being the exception, they price similarly to apple. Being faster doesn't necessarily mean better value, if it is all that it offers in this example. If money wasn't an issue, I would get a MS surface tablet without thinking about it.

I have no loyalty towards any brand or OS, it is which ever device offers best bang for buck and would be hard pressed to say apple and a few android brands offer that. Honestly price this 8th gen 40% better, get rid of the price disparity between ram/rom and I would likely get the apple, not a fan of the OS but if it offers better price/performance, sign me up.

You simply can't beat the M40 in this example on the price/performance front, quality and durability is right up there with the 8th gen apple ipad.

So please don't group me with you, my loyalty can be bought at price :D
