LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

It's probably their quality control because IPS panels rarely have ghosting issues, look at the OLED panels they are supplying phone manufacturers, most of them have issues.
Probably that yeah, though the grayness aspect is still one of the issues with IPS, just can't get to the blackness of a VA panel, but the VA can't get the same viewing angles. If only OLED wasn't so expensive :-).

I’ve got a 4 year old LG OLED that’s kept on pause from minutes to hours (since new) without any burn in . Hence me always buying OLED (3 more after that one being 65C7 , 55B8 and 65C8). Nothing wrong with the C7 either . Other 2 still newish

So what's the deal with LG UHD TV's being 50hz panels and Samsung being 100hz?

Thanks for the mention.

I've decided to go with the Samsung 65Q7FN, just waiting to see what takealot does on the pricing.

Not expecting much so I may end up just getting one at dionwired.

Was hoping for a good deal on a 65"... but can't find anything amazing.

Would like a LG 65sk7900 or better...

Hisense might be an option...

Hisense ULED U8A for R20k from various retailers
Yep, is an option...
For some reason, I'm still leaning towards LG...
I'd love to know if the Hisense do passthrough audio from the HDMI to the optical/SPDIF (for DD5.1, etc).

Unfortunately can't see anything for the budget , Takealot has it for R23000 if you really want it.

Yep. Thanks. I'm not in a big hurry, so I can wait for other future deals ;-)

Don't see proper reviews on the Hisense U8A

Meh...was on the way to get my TV when I realised I still have two sets of golf clubs and the kids car seats in the car...will try this afternoon.

Ended up getting my TV from Makro because I didn't want to wait for takealot and didn't want to sit in traffic again to get to a Dion wired.

Most frustrating part was the TV licence validation, Makro had one one guy typing in people's details who kept locking himself out of their system.

Was rather surprising to see how many people were buying 86" LG's though.

All in I'm extremely happy though, setup was damn easy and picture quality is brilliant. All that's left to do is to mount the unit to the wall once I get a flush mount.
