Guys, any specials on +-40" LCDs around R5k?
Hifi Corp has the Samsung UA40EH5300 for R5,399 or so - cheaper than the EH5000 at Makro - seems like the best bet?

Price back to R5,999, but I have a picture from yesterday where it was R5,499 until the 7th Jan. So they would hopefully honour it.

In the ballpark to get the best PQ out of D/E550s according to the pro reviewers/calibrators ...18/20 cell light - eek!

If you're cheap like me, it's cheaper to get wifi router and put it in client mode and plug the tv into it. Last I checked those specific tv adapters are like >1k.

You just missed that 3 day special run from Makro. They had Samsung (not sure of models) LCD 40's for R3899, etc, etc. Was rediculous pricing.
Its cheaper to get ethernet over power adapters and wire it. Its more reliable too.

though apparently they dont work in a complex? dont know how true that is though, coz im in an older complex and it works like a bomb!

They will work in a complex, but I'm guessing that because of the shared wiring, anyone on the same phase as you would pick up the signal. These adapters have to be paired though, so he still wont be able to convert the signal to use it.
That is really interesting to try out...will let you know how it goes

You don't get the same level of motion smoothing e.g. panning scenes can have a bit of stutter (content/format dependent).
