42" HD ready Samsung plasma R5999..

@ Game

At risk of sounding ungrateful, would it be possible to at least post model numbers, or something of the sort, when sharing these specials. Not much use to anyone if I post about a VW on special for R10,000 and it ends up being a 1960 Beetle on it's last legs. I checked there online adverts and can't find anything there either.

Worst analogy I have ever heard in my life :D

Sorry, don't write down every detail of every special I see. It was at canal walk, all I know it was a series4 42" plasma. Special ends next week Sunday but they will be out of stock by then. Also had the 40" 1080P LCD for R6999.

iirc, it was the 430.

Canal Walk only or countrywide?

Any easter specials at the moment, went to Makro last week to buy the Sony, 550a, 40" LCD but decided to wait out the easter specials + it was a 50Hz unit.

O.K. just a follow up... I'm very happy with the 40" Sony Bravia KLV-40V550A I bought this weekend! Just finished moving TV's around the house. Wife is getting "motion sickness" from the 40" which means it's BIG enough for her :p and now the 32" is in the bedroom and the 72cm CRT in the sons room.

Forgot, also saw 40" SAMSUNG Full-HD at GAME Gateway for R6999 today (Birthday Special)

This looks like a great offer. Whats the clarity on this?
I was at Game and compared the picture flow/clarity with the one next to it, 42inch LG and the LG was by far more clear & the detail was better. The guy there said that the LG was using an HDMI connection thats why it was more clear (he said the samsung had an analog connection going) Does having an HDMI connection make that much of a difference?

get the guy to swop the hdmi onto the samsung and test again. i don't think there should be a major difference.

is there a diff between HDMI and RF connection in terms of reception quality / clarity?
All the screens seemed the same as the samsung in terms of quality but the LG had a more crisp quality, more definition and the LG was 60HZ as well.

Not sure if it's been posted. Samsung LCD 40B530 going at game for R6999. Oh and the 50inch HD ready Samsung plasma 50B430 for R9999 and the 42B430 Plasma fro R5999. That's huge!

Are you serious?

EDIT: Sorry, that probably sounds a bit rude. Yes, there definitely is. Especially when displaying picture from an HD source.

RF is the connection use on antenna's like tv aerials. HDMI is a digital connection made specifically for carrying HD signals. And HDMI seems to carry better colour and clarity.

Yep, picked up the 42B430 Plasma for R5999 yesterday and pretty pleased so far. Gonna be used mainly for sport, that's why I got the plasma. My only problem with it is the lack of s-video connection, as I would have liked to connect my laptop every once in a while... does anyone know of any sort of workaround for this (cable, etc)?

Doesnt it have a pc input on the plasma? Most of the ones I have seen do. Get a normal monitor cable to run from the laptop and that will give you much better quality than the s-video/RCA

The B430 doesn't have PC input. Could go DVI/HDMI converter to HDMI port?
