I don't quite follow what they should credit us for? Also - on the matter of retail pricing: I'll be really surprised if it retails for over R1000 in SA. Let's say cost price is $70 = R630. Shipping costs are minimal for whoever's importing the bulk shipment...so even if they do stick the high amount of 50% markup to that it still comes in at around R1000.

leap charges us R168 for taxes and duties but that doesn't seem to go towards paying for duties and taxes so they should credit us that amount so it can be used towards paying the R324 dee4dog mentioned

Lol, maybe at the time of departure their were no flights direct to SA from Czech Republic. It only reached France tonight, dammit its gna take long to come here. Probably only by the 31 then

Basically it is more tax (vat) and clearance fee. They have me by the balls. If i dont pay they return product or destroy it!!! Final additional charge R341.37 Hopefully they don't charge any of you. This thing better have a built in 2TB hard drive with media player and make coffee 
you should find out how much it cost in total for import fees and if leap motion payed anything towards that, if they didnt they should reimburse you since their terms say that the tax portion of what you pay should go towards that R341

I think what that site shows is just the article being entered into the local fedex system, so that when it arrives in the country they've got a record of it and it can be sent out for delivery. But yeah - jeez talk about a sightseeing tour before it gets here. No wonder it's taking so long.

Yaaaaay - the wait is over! It's been an interesting experience pre-ordering a device and seeing how things unfold. Despite some disappointments, I'll happily do this again.
