LG G3

Hahaha. I thought the S5 was mighty underwhelming. LG have at least added some wow factor (QHD screen, lasers!!) :D

Likewise. I don't have anything against samesung, both my current phone and tablet (and just about every other electronic device in the house) are Samsung. I'd buy a Samsung phone again if they release something new, better build, flatter touchwizz. HTC M8, LG G3 and Sony Z2 are leagues ahead. Only fathomable reason I'd consider a S5 is ADH. Everything else is just meh.

An appropriate response for someone that doesn't have one.

#no_agro :D

what phone do you have?

S3.
Contract up has been up for renewal since S5 launch but I have held back for something more interesting. I was originally waiting for HTC one M8 but HTC SA has proven to be so useless I am over it. LG G3 looks like the winner just hope it gets here in the next month or two.

PS: I felt like a dick after posting that previous message, S5 is still a great phone but not for me but perhaps it is the best phone for you. Each phone manufacturer seems to target a specific area i.e. screen, build quality, camera, sound and so forth so I guess it all depends on your needs and wants.

S3? jeez, what a /fail :D but ok. i can see that you aren't as lucky as me to get a new phone every 6 months. So for me the decision isn't such a big one, as it for you.

you PS: what about the S5 made you not get it?

Hey! I still have an S2 :D

Greatest phone ever! :D

Fail? I'm probably like the 99% of the population who gets an upgrade every 2 years. I guess we are all fails then. If it makes my ePenis any bigger to you I also have a 10.1 Note 2014 :D

Reasons why I didn't get S5:
-Not happy with SS build quality, they are averagely built and thats it. My S3 which has been in a case since day 1 is peeling and so is the corners of my Note 2014 (silver ring) and its been in a genuine Samsung case since day one as well. I am not hard on my devices.
-Don't think it looks good at all - from the front, side, rear, whatever its just not nearly as attractive as its competitors.
-Doesn't feel good. I'm looking for something more premium. HTC One is a beaut in the hand but people complain it is cold and gets damaged easily. Fair enough, I guess its the trade off. Plastic doesn't have to feel so cheap. Sony Z phones, Nexus devices and by the looks of things the G3 are all plastic as well but feel better in the hand than the S5.
-That plaster back. wtf
(as you can see most of the above are design related)
-Nothing new technically interesting. Heart rate monitor and finger print scanner yay.
-Samsung Touchwizz and that other crappy PC suite that I cant recall the name of now.

I could probably think of more. I also just want a change. Getting another Samsung device will be all to familiar and I'll be bored with it in 5 minutes.

Perhaps my opinion would be different if I wanted something water resistant but I think its safe to say in my case my phone isnt going near a swimming pool or beach. Its not like a bit of rain is going to kill a smartphone. So again, ADH seems like the only thing worth getting S5 for, in my case.

OK, so basically build quality.

Build quality not awesome, sure, but doesn't feel like a piece of plastic in your hand for sure. The back cover I actually dig. I was disappointed in the way it looked at launch, but once I had it in my hands, I was super satisfied. Not slippery, No fingerprints, quite nice actually.

Why do you want a phone made of titanium? Samsung has ADH. You drop it, the screen breaks, you get a new one ;)

Peeling? wtf, you say you aren't tough on phones, but maybe you are sweating acid or something. First person ever I hear of that happening.

Buy now you should also know that the S5 camera have been rated the best out there at the moment. 2gb ram, who cares, it works butterly smooth. I have the Gear 2 as well, and its just awesome.

You say nothing new technically, but what 'new' thing has the G3 got? I don't buy the screen awesomeness just yet, its a wait and see for me. Also how it will affect battery life.

Anyway, to each there own. And the point is. If I only got to decide every 2 years what phone i get, i would probably be more picky as well :D

why exactly do you have 4 phones?

LOL All mine, but being used by family in the household. Wife's got my Note 3. Mother-in-law has my S2 (need to do a sim swap to give her the s4 mini) then the S2 will go to one of my daughters.

This is the way the cookie crumbles every six months. Upgrade, and pass it down :D

ok. bigger screen. not double. my argument stays the same, the human eye can't tell the difference. if we look at pure resolution, its useless (human eye can't tell the difference). but take all the other improvements into account, then you have a pretty good screen. resolution is not the be-all and end-all of what makes a screen look good.

Yeh, the S5 bezel is pretty crappy.

Oh what bollocks. Its like when they said that HD audio was a waste because the human ear cant hear above blah blah blah.

Im in exactly the same boat, I normally change phones once a year but the S3 was good enough not to bother with that.
I refuse to buy an S5, my father in law has one and its hardly any better than my S3. The worst part is that in 2 years I expect things to have improved, sadly the design has gone backwards (whats the deal with the piping on the sides?)

Anyway Im fairly sure Im done with android for a while(been using it since the G1 -with an iphone thrown in) so its probably a lumia for me unless the G3 tickles my fancy enough.
