LG G3

I reckon Samsung is very concerned right now, especially if LG launches a G3 mini as well.

Well, Samsung still has ADH, so they can meet LG in the middle.

It looks like the G3 is actually competing with the Note 3, instead of the S5.

It's a pity these things keeps getting bigger and bigger. 5" is at the very limit of what I can work with without too much discomfort.

This actually makes me wonder, will the Note 4 get even bigger than 5.7"?

LG can offer ADH too. I just wonder how long it will take them to do so

I totally agree with you. My Nexus has a 4.95" screen and to me that is already pushing the boundaries.

+10000
These people seem to think that their new phones need to be bigger than the previous iteration to make it better. Seems like they see it as like upgrading the processor. Then they make mini versions, but lesser powered- which I do not want. Gets to me

I reckon a 4.99"/5" is perfect.

Had a S4 Black Edition for three days and it just felt great in my hand - and even one handed operation possible!

Well, the G3 is now the undisputed King of Android!

Now to see what the battery life is like....

I don't agree with this... yet.

Specs don't make you king. Let's see when proper hands on reviews come out with camera tests and the like before we make claims like this.

Also, that size, too big. If I have to get something that big I'll rather get a Note 4.

It's got double the display resolution of any other phone out there, of course it's the king!
And it's actually the same size as a Galaxy S5. :)

double the display might mean less standby time. and like i said before, double the resolution is absolutely useless on a phone display. manufacturers put it in just because they can. there is no benefit to the user.

S5 - 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1mm - 145g
G3 - 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm - 149g
N3 - 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm - 168g

So going by the above, it's heavier, just. It's taller, wider, and thicker than the s5. Even fatter than the note 3!

I would wait to see a 2k screen before making that judgement. It's not really double resolution btw; that would be 4k. 2560x1440 is just the next standard step up that's used on PC monitors. But the videos I've seen of it, people say that it makes a surprising difference to have the extra resolution. Personally I haven't got any idea but I wouldn't jump to a conclusion that it was useless.

Yes it's taller, wider and thicker than the S5 due to the 5.5" screen; it also has a much higher screen/bezel ratio than the S5.

ok. bigger screen. not double. my argument stays the same, the human eye can't tell the difference. if we look at pure resolution, its useless (human eye can't tell the difference). but take all the other improvements into account, then you have a pretty good screen. resolution is not the be-all and end-all of what makes a screen look good.

Yeh, the S5 bezel is pretty crappy.

It's not necessarily the case that humans can't see the difference. Okay at a certain point the clear matrix of pixels disappears, and that's already the case with the iPhone retina level of ~326ppi. However your eyes can still get the impression of greater detail, and nobody really knows how high you need to go on the PPI scale before that becomes irrelevant: certainly up to 600 there will be some gain. You ideally want to get the impression that you're looking at a painted canvas or a window.

resolution is not the be-all and end-all of what makes a screen look good.
Yeah that's true, and I see in videos next to each other the S5 looks more vivid and bright. That also makes a difference.

Lots of armchair engineers around.

According to LG and every review I have seen there is a noticeable difference between the QHD 5.5 inch and other 1080P 5 inchers. Probably not a massive difference but there is one. Many professional reviewers have also stated that the phone is pretty much the same size as the other flagships, sure, it is a few mm taller / wider but actually feels smaller in the hand due to say a S5 due to the G3's curved back, back buttons and resizeable keyboard. On top of that you are getting a .5 inch bigger screen in trade off for a mm or two?

I guess we'll only hear it's QHD praises when Samsung releases the S5 prime

To answer your question (hint - there is definitely a difference) :

ok. so watched your little video here, and have a couple of comments.

1. So, she was saying that it will make to difference to you, unless you watch a lot of pictures and movies on your device. ummm, ok, do you think that applies to ALL movies? How do you think SD content will look on this display as opposed to the S5 display.

2. Who the fsck watches full HD or QHD content on a freakin phone?

3. What is it with you and this chick? You seem the have a real hard on for her? I mean, if she had a dick, you would suck it for sure.
