What you wanna bet mine is finished before yours
I don't doubt it.

You are also right around the corner so pretty sure you will get it long before I do.

I even know the name of the technician assigned to the phone but since they are not allowed to communicate with the outside world, pointless information.

If only there was a way to complain about that Rustenburg place that would actually see results.

On a side note, I called incredible to find out where my online order was as I never got an email to tell me it's ready, they got the store to call me, got my order email while still on the phone with them then got called and asked if all went well and to apologise for the issue a few days later, by both the store and by head office. This for a R99 click and collect order.

You know, after sales support.

Vodacoms call center and even the store I walked into have been very helpful but that Rustenburg Repair place, as soon as my phone landed there the **** started.

Astro which Vodacom in Runtenburg are you using, waterfall mall?
I took it to vodacom wonderpark, retail outlet. They sent it to vodacare Rustenburg.

If you want the full story I linked to it a few posts back.

Had the same boot loop problem with mine, sent it back to mtn and got a brand new phone back, my only complaint is that it took longer than 10 working days... Hope I don't have that issue with this new one though

how hot do your batteries get when charging the G4?
I'm using GSAM battery monitor and it often gives me an alarm that battery temp is high, example 43.1C

I have a H815P that is Vodacom branded. It won't do the OTA update.
Can someone assist in a link to possibly flashing an unbranded 6.0 or something?

I wouldn't think 43 degrees is overly hot, perhaps it's just the alarm threshold is set too low for some reason?

I set it to 44C now and all seems fine, no alarms - I was just wondering if anybody has checked their max temp, seeing I'm using a QC2.0 quick charger - it charges at 9V instead of the normal 5V

A few posts back I linked a new .kdz

Edit: For those who want/need a guide to flashing .kdz using LG Up.

It's for G3 but the same principle applies.

Step 1 - Download the kdz firmware of your choice.

Step 2 - Download LG Drivers

Step 3 - Download LG UP

Step 4 - Install LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_3_23 first and then LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3. Start LGUP prog on your computer "make sure your phone is plugged in". If you have a problem that LGUP does not see your LG G4, leave your mobile connected via USB and leave LGUP running, restart your mobile, hopefully this will solve the problem.

*Pro Tip: Use the original usb cable the phone came with for best results.

Step 5 - TO UPGRADE TO MM from LP - make sure BIN file is ticked and in the File Path point it towards the MM KDZ you have downloaded. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CLICKED UPGRADE! This will update you from LP to MM with out wiping any of your info. Press Start.

TO GO BACK TO LP FROM MM - Open LGUP on your computer, click on FILE PATH and point it towards your LP KDZ. Close LGUP and re-open LGUP. Make sure you select REFURBISH this will do a full wipe, tick BIN file. Press Start.

If you are worried about losing your data after a full wipe, why not use the LG Bridge software to backup and restore.... it works fine!

There is no need to enter download mode! LGUP will do it for you.

So I've only had the phone for a full day now... The brightness is set to auto, but overall the colour seems very washed out and not as rich as any of my previous devices. Is that just the screen in the G4 or can I make adjustments to improve this?

I came from a Note 3. The difference between AMOLED and LCD is huge. Eventually your eyes will adjust.

It does get like that in direct midday sun but otherwise fine, I also came from a Note 3.
