LG G4

how does aliexpress work when it comes to tracking? does one get a tracking number irrespective of the total order cost?

Okay well when I search items I select the filter to only show free shipping and 1 piece. Then scan through the products read the description to see if they do give a tracking number or not. They usually do.

You can track it up until it says "Departed to South Africa" or something like that. Then in a couple of days you can start bugging SAPO callcentre for a local tracking number. Give them the international tracking number and they will give you the local one you can track on their website if the item has arrived in the country.

Aliexpress has buyer protection so if you don't get the item then just before the protection run out file for a refund or contact the seller to extend and send a new item.
Once you get the item remember to go and mark that you have received the item so the seller gets paid otherwise you can just leave it and once the buyer protection time lapse the seller will get paid.

Pretty simple process it just takes time with China post/Hong Kong Post.

OK, sounds fine, thanks!

Just a tip that you could try - Once the parcel arrives in SA, you can use this link to get the SAPO tracking number and see when it is at your post office
http://www.parceltrack.co.za/find.php?ParcelID={insert your foreign tracking number here}

above without the {}

Any 2.1A charger and more and you should be fine. Most stores have them.

AFAIK they are not QC*.0 specified, they still charge at 5V and not 9V or 12V - problem with higher current is that many USB cables can't handle the current

I have a 2.1 charger. It does charge fast but it doesn't say its fast charging.

Probably because of the 5V.

My $7 Chines quick charge 2.0 charger does say fast charging for me and charged from 0 to 100% in 45 minutes +-

Flip my phone is also working very well after the main board replacement no more battery drain.

Does anyone know which serial numbers are affected by the bootloop issue? my G4 started looping and now LG are sending a brand new phone as replacement. I just hope I wont have the same problem with the new one.

did you buy your G4 or get it on a contract?

any G4 with a manufacture date of September 2015 or after is supposed to have already received the fix. The easiest way to tell is to look at the serial number. If your serial number begins in "509", "510", or higher than your g4 has the fix. If your serial number begins in "504", "505", "506", "507", then your g4 does not have it and could potentially stop functioning. Those with a "508" could have had the fix applied but also may not have depending on the region and carrier.

Thanks for that. I'll check the number once I get my new phone. It's on contract

Wow to be honest my G4 has not been this good since I got it. Whole day of very mild usage and battery is @ 86%

Before my battery should drain after just 5 hours of screen off time. In fact the battery usage was more with the screen off than on. The quick charge was also not working and the device should get so hot I can't hold it even after I completely wiped it.

I should charge it 2 or 3 times a day before it froze and went into a bootloop.

Now this battery lasts longer than my S5 and quick charge with my charger from 0 to 100% in just 47 to 50min

I wonder why they are replacing instead of repairing?

Which store? Network or retailer?

I doubt the handset was replaced. I think its just the mainboard but please let us know if this is true, would be interesting

Perhaps currently zero local stock of mainboards and they made a decision just to swop the whole unit out.
