LG KS360 Chatterbox

on my samsung e250 i would check my mails and it would tell me if the files were too big like pictures maybe i could also post on MyBB through opera and i could make sentences not just words and it only cost me a few cents.

Yes, the phone charges when connected via the USB cable.

What info aren't you getting? I haven't installed the software so I don't know if that's a problem. All I did was the following:
Go to Menu > Connectivity > USB connection
Make sure that "Mass storage" is checked.
Connect the phone to PC with USB cable.

The phone will show a message that says calls etc are disabled, and a popup style message that you need to use "safely remove hardware" to prevent data corruption. It takes a while for the device drivers to install (automatically like a flash drive).

After Windows says the device is ready you just go into Windows explorer. The phone shows up as two separate drives e.g E (15MB - Internal Memory) and F (1GB - Memory card). Both of these will have different folders. For MP3's you just copy them over to the Sounds folder on the memory card and you are set.

The text entry limit seems to be Opera specific and is around 512 characters. The phone browser doesn't seem to have that limitation (or at least I ran out of typing nonsense to myself).
 
i managed to do what you did by following your instructions and it seems ok. have you synced your phones contents to the pc because i did that but not sure where the stuff goes too. they give you email options for some reason.
 
Nope, haven't bothered with it. My PC is set up just the way I like it, don't want to install their PC Suite and have it mess stuff up.

Once concern is that I read a couple of "comments" on the web that the phone freezes and becomes unusable. I'm taking it for what it's worth, but have any of the KS360 owners actually had any problems?

I'm unfamiliar with LG's brand of phones so don't know how well they'll perform in the long run. Hopefully it won't die on me.

my phone has frozen twice since getting it, nothing serious that turning it off and on again did not fi.x

Which format does the phone use and which app did you use to convert it?

So far haven't had any problems at all. No freezes or anything strange, but it's only been 3 days so far.

My major concern is that the buttons won't hold up to all the pressing when it is used constantly for browsing, but guess that's just something that will need to be seen.
 
morning all.

it is a 3gp format and i converted my .avi video to 3GP (MPEG-4 AAC) 3GPP(*.3GP) using allok. there are about 4 different versions i could have used but i chose that one.
 
Testing testing this is from my phone and its quicker this morning to get on the forum. I cannot see how much words i can type but at least i can type this.
 
Test works perfectly. All my replies except those where I quoted people were done from my phone. Works brilliantly and should help my spelling improve since you need to spell correctly yourself :)
 
A couple of questions :

1. What type of charger does it use? USB?

2. How is the battery life in general?

3. Can you set multiple alarms, and anniversaries/birthdays/meetings?

4. Does it have a software equivalent in function to Nokia's PC Suite?

All connectors are propriety.
Battery life is ok lasting about a day with intensive browsing. Normal usage is about 2 days. Looks like you can set multiple alarms and calender notifications.
 
Found my first strange problem with the phone.

I was messing around with the MP3 player and for some reason when skipping between tracks it reboots the phone. Very strange indeed. I wonder if the bitrate/size of the MP3 files could be the cause?

Strangely enough if you go to "My stuff" > Sounds and listen to them there, there isn't a problem.

Luckily I don't really care about listening to MP3s that much.
 
As for the Bluetooth thing I might have a few notes which might pinpoint the problem.

On my Nokia 6600 I discovered that large files would not transfer properly, and that the files was copied to the phone's memory instead of the flash memory.

It might be that the Bluetooth services is hardcoded to accept Bluetooth stuff and store it in the phone's memory. If hardcoded, it'll be a bugger to change.

If it's softcoded (ie you can change the storage location) then we'll need to find out how to change it, and then you'll be able to transfer large files via Bluetooth.

As for Bluetooth transfer speeds, USB is generally faster although you have to schlepp a cable around all over the place.

Rule of thumb : themes and small files (or backups) - do it via Bluetooth. Large files (gazillions of RIAA-outlawed MP3's) - do it by USB.

Anybody tried to watch a video on this phone yet?

Does Windows need drivers installed to access the phone's memory card? If not, then you can use it as an USB memory stick... but battery life might be shortened that way.

(I don't have this phone yet, but plan on acquiring one soon :D)
