LG KS360 Chatterbox

As for the Bluetooth thing I might have a few notes which might pinpoint the problem.

On my Nokia 6600 I discovered that large files would not transfer properly, and that the files was copied to the phone's memory instead of the flash memory.

It might be that the Bluetooth services is hardcoded to accept Bluetooth stuff and store it in the phone's memory. If hardcoded, it'll be a bugger to change.

If it's softcoded (ie you can change the storage location) then we'll need to find out how to change it, and then you'll be able to transfer large files via Bluetooth.

As for Bluetooth transfer speeds, USB is generally faster although you have to schlepp a cable around all over the place.

Rule of thumb : themes and small files (or backups) - do it via Bluetooth. Large files (gazillions of RIAA-outlawed MP3's) - do it by USB.

Anybody tried to watch a video on this phone yet?

Does Windows need drivers installed to access the phone's memory card? If not, then you can use it as an USB memory stick... but battery life might be shortened that way.

(I don't have this phone yet, but plan on acquiring one soon :D)

Yes, Bluetooth only copies files to the internal memory according to the manual. Sadly there's no way to change that.

Windows doesn't need drivers to access the phone's memory card. Works pretty well as just a USB memory stick. I dislike installing unknown software so I haven't installed the software that came with the phone. Managed to copy files to the phone by using it as a mass storage device.

I don't have any videos in 3gp format, so sadly can't comment on video performance.

I might have to clarify my statement to "No way to change that - which I have found." You can easily manually move the file to the external storage though, but then you need to make sure the file you send to the phone isn't larger than the available phone memory space.

Much easier just to copy it to the phone using the included USB cable.

morning fellas and fellarettes.

well i have 29 songs on the phone now and 14 new games and 1 music video so far and maybe 6 pictures all shared between the phone and the card and so far everything is still in working order. i had my first scare last night with one game that would not work on the phone and had to switch the phone off to reset it and i could not remember my pin and had to phone for the puk number.

once you understand how the copying works its pretty easy.

waynegohl, looks like you're happy with your phone. My daughter is VERY happy with hers and the problems we originally had connecting the phone to her PC have 'misteriously' disappeared ... works fine now. The ad on radio for this phone is also very nice ... clearly LG is going big with this one in SA.

yip i think its smart. there are still a few things i must test but so far so good. i think i setup 9 radio stations on it so far but have not really listened to the radio on it as i am either listening to my songs or playing games or messaging.

jeez anything yo want. playing Harry potter and the Order of the Phoenix with one level to go.

the phone can store/take hundreds of pics depending on the photo size.
the pics are clear and so are the videos totally awesome.
to send a game from my phone to a friends phone was even quicker than sending a mp3.

it seems i cannot send an image via bluetooth to the pc.

On my wife's Nokia 6680 it's dead easy - turn bluetooth on, select image, select send to bluetooth device, scan for devices, select your computer/laptop and it is done.

Maybe you need to pair the devices, and make sure there's a PIM or OBEX bluetooth service running on your PC?

sorry man i only saw the message now.

what i mean is if you go to the images section you can set your photos to view them in a 3d look, in other words instead of seeing the pictures next to each other like on your pc they are actually set to an angle like files.

ag man i don't know how to explain it.

oh and by the way i have now 25 new games on the phone excluding the 3 embedded ones.
