Life after the S3

The S2 is more than good enough to use for another two years.

I would definitely not get one of the current flagship phones to replace a S2, the difference is not that much.

You can download a S3 ROM for your S2, then you have a S3 for free. :)

I actually have to agree. There is not one piece of software (app) that can challenge the hardware in the S2 - even if you underclock and undervolt the S2 to other current phone manufacturer specs.

The development for the S2 is probably the most active of all handsets, so there is a lot of life left in the next couple of years.

The S3 is an awesome phone, but there is in reality not that big a difference between it and the S2. Yes the screen has better density and yes it has a quad core processor, but Samsung missed a great opportunity to make this phone the "only" choice.

There are a number of phones out there to choose from and they compare well with the S2 and the S3 like HTC, $ony, Motorola.

So if you have money that burns your pocket, get a new android phone, but do some homework first (gsm arena, xda, etc). If not, then you won't really be missing much in say the next 12-18 months.

Newer Dos Games on anDosbox, some roms on Mupen64 and FPSe, performance on some vnc apps, probably more but those are the ones I personally noticed ,but give it a few months and there will probably be more to add to the list :)

The next Galaxy Nexus should be out by then. It would have similar specs to the S3 with the pure Google experience

You guys comparing the S2 and S3 and saying no compelling reason to upgrade are seriously smoking whatever you smoking way too much :D

I had the S2 - then Note - then S3. My wife currently uses the S2.
I sit and fiddle with both devices often and the differences are quite drastic. The S3 is a rather large upgrade.

My wife is no tech freak like most of us, yet she is pushing me to get the Note 2 just so she can get her hands on my S3.

That said, she is very happy with her S2. No complaints. Just likes the S3 more.

There's ALWAYS something better just around the corner, that's how it works. The only way to stay sane is to just get the latest when your upgrade is due.

Or to have far too much money and buy every new fad that comes along.

May next year the S4 will be out, no doubt with LTE and other goodies, I'd wait
This ...I have the S2 and the S3 the S2 is still a great phone and the S3 is not that much of an upgrade to the S2.
Dont get me wrong the S3 is really a great phone but if i had it all to do again i would have waited for the S4.
Rumor has it that the S4 will be out in april next year.
