My 2 year contract ends in about 10 months time.... I currently have the Galaxy S2  , but would give my left ball for a no strings attached S3 as long as something better wasnt going to be around in May next year.

I cant find anything so far about what might be coming next year.

What do you know?

New iPhone, Pad Phone from Asus, maybe something from Motorola, or even the next gen Nexus.

Think this is going to such a lekker phone. Check out that pixel density. No international version available though. :-(

May next year the S4 will be out, no doubt with LTE and other goodies, I'd wait

10 months!? :wtf:

Im thinking you might be jumping the gun a little it here!

Just wait...and see!!

The S3 will be good for another 2 years easily as it is already carrying the latest gen tech. You may see an increase in battery, screen pixel density and the like with the S4.

The way I view technology is like this. You will not have the latest and top of the range device for long. The rate at which technology improves and moves is extremely fast. Gone are the days where the top of the range phone meant that you had the best there was for at least a year or two. There is always something better around the corner. The jump tech wise is not that drastic from the S2 to the S3, both are still excellent phones, but the allure of the S3 is (for me) that quad core processor and beautiful screen. iPhone 5 is also coming out this year (hopefully) if you feel so inclined for that, don't forget that the competitors are already working to best the S3.

You have 10 months left, which means 8 months before you can upgrade. You can take the plunge and get the S3 or wait till end year where there will be other releases. Dunno what will be coming out but you never know when it comes to tech :) it's the luck of the draw!

The S4 is going to rock! Will make the S3 look positively ancient. Rather wait for that. Or the S5.

The S2 is more than good enough to use for another two years.

I would definitely not get one of the current flagship phones to replace a S2, the difference is not that much.

You can download a S3 ROM for your S2, then you have a S3 for free. :)

Does that S2 ROM also download a quadcore processor?

Meh iphones are dead to me, there will be a bunch of new phones on similar hardware specs to the one X/S3 coming out soon. The platform hardware is normally stable for at least a year to two before the next big jump.
