I want to start my home with smart light switches. Takealot has Vizia, Qualitel and Sonoff switches. What is recommended I see the 3 gang Vizia is cheap. I do have neutral at my switches. In future I want to incorporate a Echo 4 or Echo dot with motion and door sensors. What is my best option. I also want to be able to operate the lights manually if the internet goes down. Thanks

Hi Riyaadh, why don't you go with Shelly devices. They easy to setup and configure. They fit neatly behind your existing light switch works on your WiFi network and can be used locally without internet connectivity. Below are a few websites you can get it from

I have a 2 of 3gang wall switches. One switch on each 3 gang is a 2 way switch. That shelly device will only be able to switch 1 not all 3.

I've got Sonoff switches around the house - 1,2,3 gangs. Everything is integrated with Alexa. If you've got neutral running to the switches then most of the the hard work has been done for you.

Native or tasmota?

If your internet is off can you still switch your lights manually at the wall?

Yes - you can also switch them on and off using the app via your local network even if the internet is down.

Thanks for the info.

I was following this thread. I also want to install smart switches and I have neutral wires already.

I think the Sonoff will work perfectly for me

I have a bunch of Sonoff Basic's for lamps and Sonoff Mini's for lights with wall mounted light switches which all work well. I have a few more lights I will use Sonoff Mini's but they run two wall mounted switches so I need to figure the wiring out.

Bangood gives the writing diagram for the 2-switch scenario on their product page.

Hi all. Can you manually control the light switches without using the app? So can the wife and kids manually switch lights on and off at the wall switch and then can I use the app to control them and do the automation bits and pieces?

You can with the Sonoff light switches.

The Sonoff light switches allow for local and remote switching. If you prefer to keep the existing wall switches, the Sonoff Mini R2 provides for switching via the app or via the existing switch.
