Lightroom alternatives?

Have you tried it? I'm not sure I can see a difference between V1 and 2.
Nah not yet but I use the Develop persona quite a lot for quick adjustments as it's quicker that dragging those things in as adjustment layers but this also means I seldom use Develop for larger comps because it's destructive. This seems like a thing that should've been there from the start. Will probably upgrade soon.

Problem is, as far as I can tell at least, there is still no batch processing.

EDIT: still no scripting.

The V2 launch discount received an extension,

We’re extending our 40% off launch offer to January!

...

We’ve been so blown away by all the support that we’ve decided to extend our launch offer to give everyone who hasn’t had the chance some more time to get Affinity V2 for 40% off.

Get individual apps for only US$40.99 on desktop or US$11.99 on iPad, or get the Universal Licence (all apps, all platforms) for just US$99.99. The discount will be available until 25 January 2023, so if you’d prefer to take a free trial before buying, there’s still plenty of time to do that as well.

OT, but now that Skylum has introduced Luminar NEO, they are giving Luminar AI away,

For those wanting to try it out, they email you an activation key.

If you are using Lightroom Classic on Windows 11, you might encounter a problem with launching the program after backing up your catalogue. It might look like Lightroom Classic is not responding, but it is actually working in the background. This can take a long time, up to an hour or more. Do not panic and do not reinstall Windows or Lightroom Classic. Just be patient and wait for it to start. This is a known bug and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

This is fine for editing and touchups, but it doesn't offer the organising and cataloging features that Lightroom does.

I find that many of these apps just don't compare to LR. Both Darkroom and Photomator are missing more 'pro' features that LR has. And some of the more basic things like spot removal is many times worse, you can see the blemishes on the right while just trying to remove lens dust:

I agree, I've kept my Photoshop and Lightroom CC subscription as they are IMO the best combo for photo editing and organising. Nothing else comes close to what they can do. I don't like paying every month for them, but hey, it's not like they cost a fortune.

Same. And they just keep getting better and better with all the AI features. Not to mention the all the awesome plug-ins like nik collection, topaz, lumenzia etc. I use them all the time

I'm still hoping for Affinity to come out with a lightroom type app but I'm pretty much where I need to be with Photo Mechanic for organisational tasks and On1 Photo Raw and Affinity Photo for pixel pushing. Affinity's ver 2 offerings were pretty meh.
