Hi guys

As mentioned in another thread, our exchange was recently upgraded to ADSL2+. I've noticed a change in the figures as follows:

Original
Statistics -- ADSL

Mode: G.DMT
Type: Fast
Line Coding: Trellis On
Status: No Defect
Link Power State: L0

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (dB): 30.3 12.0
Attenuation (dB): 20.0 10.5
Output Power (dBm): -3.9 12.6
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 12064 1216
Rate (Kbps): 384 128

Current
Statistics -- ADSL

Mode: ADSL2+
Line Coding: Trellis On
Status: No Defect
Link Power State: L0

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (dB): 26.0 12.0
Attenuation (dB): 22.0 12.0
Output Power (dBm): -3.4 -23.0
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 7372 1128
Rate (Kbps): 384 127

Are the current stats reason enough to complain, or should I just shut up and be grateful that the line is syncing again?

i would complain keeping quiet is reason why telkom sits and pretends nothings broken while you running around trying to find solutions to fix it

A quick update - as of now, there is still a fault at the exchange. I had to literally drag that information out of the call center agent yesterday, after being told that the problem might be on my ISP's side. Apparently I was just lucky that my line synced yesterday morning. Been out since about 12:00 yesterday afternoon.

they still blame telkom internet for my faults yet its the exchange so doesnt matter what isp

just do a manual g.dmt setting in your router?

both line specs are GOOD - adsl2+ is known to have lower values than g.dmt

imho you just wasting your time , that is if you don't have any other serious problem with stability ?

That is my main problem. The line syncs when it wants to, and apparently they are *still* busy with the fault. Thank you for the suggestion, though. Will force G.DMT and see whether that helps.
